I admire Apl.de.ap. His love for the Philippines (being a true-blue native of Angeles City, Pampanga where he grew up) has never waned through the years, even after he has achieved big-time success as part of the Black-Eyed Peas. He joined hands with DOT (Department of Tourism) Secretary Ace Durano and MTV Asia to come up with a song and music video to promote the Philippines, especially to those in the largely untapped 20-35 age group in North America and Europe who may be longing to either trace back their roots or simply add it as part of their itinerary once they visit Asia in the future.
The song, titled “Take Me 2 the Philippines“, is a very bouncy tune that takes a lot of pride in the country and shows Apl.de.ap’s excellent rapping skills. The production values are topnotch and you can’t help but be both intrigued and attracted to what the 7,107 islands can offer to tourists and balikbayans alike.

Before I forget, he did this project pro bono. Kudos to you!
