Moment for the Earth: a successful fund-raising event

During the Moment for the Earth event at the Best Western F1 Premier Hotel, the Miss Earth 2012 candidates each presented auction gifts from their respective countries in the hopes of raising the highest bids from the special guests in attendance. Miss Venezuela Osmariel Villalobos brought a long-stem blue-and-gold necklace made of precious stones. One bidder must be enormously charmed by the gorgeous Latina that he ended up bringing home the said item. It fetched an amount of PHP210,000.00 (a little over US$5,000.00), the night’s best.

All proceeds will go to the various charitable and environmental projects of Miss Earth Foundation.

Meanwhile, the lovely ladies paraded in their National Costumes during the same gathering. While it was already reported that Miss Thailand Warrathaya Wongchayaporn snatched the Gold with her traditional yet elaborately inspiring get-up, there were other non-winning creations that deserve to be mentioned. Three particular standouts were the ones worn by Misses Philippines Stephany Stefanowitz, Indonesia Chelsy Liven and Guatemala Stefany Miranda.

The video above shows the Evening Gown Competition of Group 3 in the ongoing Miss Earth 2012 Challenges. This was held at SMDC in Pasay City.

Gold winner of the event was Guatemala’s Stefany Miranda (who was also named Miss Ever Bilena), with Thailand’s Warrathaya Wongchayaporn taking the Silver, and Norway’s Nina Fjalestad the Bronze.

Let’s see who will top the same event in Groups 1 and 2.

The Miss Earth 2012 Challenges are nearing due completion and I’m excited to see who will finally conquer the whole slate of events.
