Who will win among the 44 Thai beauties tonight? (Photo credit: t-pageant.com)
Tonight, the winners of Miss Universe Thailand 2013 will be known at the Royal Paragon Hall of Siam Paragon in Bangkok, Thailand. From among the 44 hopefuls, one will emerge most victorious and earn the right to represent the Land of Smiles in Miss Universe 2013. Additionally, the country’s bets to Miss International, Miss Supranational and Miss Tourism Queen International will be known and they will comprise the court of beauties.
Given my constant fondness for Thailand, I followed this national competition with much interest. And so, I present the twelve candidates I personally feel as most deserving of making the cut and further prove their winning potentials. In alphabetical order of their first names, they are:
The 12 ladies I see advancing to the next cut.
Truth be told, my mind is already made up as to who will shine brighter than the rest in the named dozen. Actually, there are four who have remained strong since the start, so I left one slot open to possible surprises.
#5 Rattanaporn, #26 Punika, #11 Chalita and #37 Sakaowan fill up my 1st-4th places. Unless one or more among them make major blunders during the finals, I feel that they should be comfortably up there after the winners are announced.
Of course, there are small kinks along the way that could spoil the outcome. #11 Chalita is their version of our Charmaine in a way. And with that, it is possible that she will be stuck with her rehearsed ways and mannerisms to make the judges doubt about her spontaneity as an overseas rep. #5 Rattanaporn is the most beautiful in my opinion, but she is not tall enough (5’6″). Thais are more enamored by statuesque winners. #37 Sakaowan recently won the very special award of Miss Krabi (which carried a cash prize of ThB100,000) and this could give her the edge or not. She is cute-pretty but I’m not all too sure if she is the face they want to see in MU. And #26 Punika was actually the strongest at the onset, but got her chances affected by previous posings in a men’s magazine.
As for the 5th slot, I’m taking my chances on half Thai, half Argentinian #37 Wanvisa. The long shape of her face may be a bit unorthodox for their taste, but this girl might be able to pull a win if she plays her cards right during the Q&A.
My Top 5 for Miss Universe Thailand 2013 with Rita (Rattanaporn) ranked #1.
So who do I want to see assigned for the specific international pageants?

Miss Supranational 2013: #26 Punika Kulsuntornrat
