So who’s still in and who’s already out of the race? The new photos of the Binibinis will tell you the ones who are still in the thick of the fight. And with new assigned numbers at that.
Only thirty four (34) are left. The six who have already bowed out of the competition for different reasons are:
Rowena Sasuluya (or Rowee Lucero if you will)
Samantha Bernardo (for obvious reasons)
Hazel Ortiz (that new McDo TVC must be why)
Ana Thea Cenarosa (personal reasons)
Alexangela Salvador (personal reasons)
Vickie Rushton (personal reasons)
I have a feeling they will.
In the coming week or two, the latest photoshoot with Raymond Saldaña will be uploaded in the Bb. Pilipinas pages on Facebook and IG. And if my gut-feel is right, that is when you will know if the remaining Binibinis in contention have new assigned numbers.
First of all, it doesn’t require a lot of sleuthing to conclude that the once #Binibini2 Rowee Lucero is no longer part of the roster after competing in The Miss Globe 2020, as is the once #Binibini13 Samantha Bernardo who is now doing us proud in the different challenges of Miss Grand International. So with the two of them out, the number is down to 38.
But pageant whispers have already turned into talks. More Binibinis have allegedly withdrawn from competition by now. I cannot say who among them opted to take the exit – mostly for reasons that are understandable. The pandemic has affected a number of them – either financially or the need to find sources of income. And this is something not peculiar to pageantry. It is a global concern.
So whatever the new assigned numbers are – or if they do get new numbers – let’s just take things as it is. I just hope that the ladies I still want to see competing are still around.
This information does not exactly come from the grapevine of rumors, but more of reality biting in.
Last Sunday, I was on the phone with a media colleague who accidentally mentioned that there should be no more last-minute additions to the remaining 35 Binibinis just to make them 40 once again. For logistics, health and safety, the candidates who lasted up to now should stay as is – no more, no less.
I would be inclined to think that Samantha Bernardo is no longer in because of Miss Grand International, just as Rowee Lucero who defied the odds and traveled to Albania for The Miss Globe. I also heard unconfirmed talks that Alexangela Salvador may no longer be part of the batch due to personal reasons. But mathematically, there are more. And the uber prolonged stay as Binibinis could be why they may have opted to move on with life.
Let’s see who will finally be in and out soon.
Pleased to share with you Episode 5 of Pageantry Norms Season 3 which happens to be Part 3 of our Christmas Episodes and the last one for 2020. Miss Globe 2020 Lorinda Kolgeci was unable to join due to connection issues in Kosovo. But I am happy spending online time with Miss Earth 2018 Phuong Khanh Nguyen, Miss Universe Singapore 2020 Belle Ong and Miss Globe Philippines 2020 Rowee Lucero.
The program will have a one week mid-season break, but we will be back on January 10 for Episode 6 titled “Happy Pageant New Year 2021” featuring some of my favorite pageant personalities – one from BPCI, one from MWPO and one from Mutya Pilipinas plus one former Miss Universe Philippines titleholder.
Miss Globe Philippines 2020 and The Miss Globe 2020 4th Runner-Up Rowee Lucero is back after a whirlwind – albeit successful – representation of the country in Tirana, Albania. In a zoom meet-and-greet conference call with selected members of the pageant media, she shared her happiness in having made it to the Top 5 during the finals of the said pageant.
Rowee also intimated that she has no regrets in having taken the risk of accepting the challenge, knowing fully well that she could be removed from the roster of Bb. Pilipinas 2020 Official Candidates. And inspite of not receiving any official word from BPCI, she knows that her stint as Binibini 2 will remain just a wonderful memory of her eight (8) months along with the 39 other Binibinis who have already become her good friends. While she wanted to fulfill the dream of being on the Bb. Pilipinas stage for the finals next year, the stronger desire to represent the Philippines abroad is another pageant dream that she was able to realize inspite of the global pandemic.
Rowee is looking forward to fulfilling future public appearances for The Miss Globe in other countries. She has endeared herself to the organizers that her accompaniment is very much welcome. With both active Schengen and US multiple-entry visas on her passport, she won’t have a problem traveling even on short notice.
From all of us here at normannorman.com, welcome back and take the much-needed rest. This won’t be the last you will see of Rowee for sure!

The weather in Tirana, Albania is cool and sunny with no chance of rain. And Miss Philippines Rowee Lucero is ready to flaunt her beach-ready curves in a swimwear photoshoot for The MISS GLOBE Beauty Pageant 2020.
Rowee is also getting along well with the 53 other candidates in the competition. But more importantly, she is seen by the organizers as a sweet lady who conforms to all the instructions and schedules with ease. Make no mistake, our bet is in good fighting form and competing well.
In this blog entry are departure photos of Miss Globe Philippines 2020 Rowee Lucero before checking in for her flight to Tirana, Albania where she will join the other candidates of The MISS GLOBE Beauty Pageant 2020 and vie for the crown.
Best of luck in the competition❣️
I corresponded with a representative of The Miss Globe Beauty Pageant regarding their announcement that Rowena Lucero (or #Binibini2 Rowena Sasuluya, if you will) will represent the Philippines in The Miss Globe 2020 scheduled next month in Albania.
Here are the essential points:
1) BPCI informed The Miss Globe that they will not be able to send an official candidate due to the pandemic situation.
2) The Miss Globe – with the help of Rodgil Flores and Gio Flores of Kagandahang Flores – checked out potential ladies to fill in the representation. They selected #Binibini2 Rowee Lucero as the one who can meet the last-minute requirements needed. Let me reiterate this: BPCI had no hand in the choice.
3) BPCI will still keep the franchise of The Miss Globe for 2021.
Now for the question if Rowee can still compete in the postponed edition of Bb. Pilipinas, only BPCI can answer that.
I hope this clears everything up.
