If my percentages are accurate, the three major beauty camps make up a big chunk of candidates in Miss Philippines Earth 2014. Around 71% come from Kagandahang Flores, 12% from Aces & Queens, 4% from House of JDV and the remaining 13% (or approximately 6 contenders) are independents. And Rosebel Bastasa of Jose Dalman, Zamboanga del Norte is one of the unaffiliated beauties who need to work double-time in order to get their share of media exposure and pre-pageant spotlights. Not an easy thing to accomplish if you ask me. But the girl remains unfazed and focused on the commitment she signed up for.
Hopefully, she will find some sort of reward for her dedication during the May 11 finals night.
Keep on fighting, Rosebel! 😉
The six (6) ladies above screened for Bb. Pilipinas 2014, with near-but-not-quite success.
What is the common denominator among the six (6) ladies above? Simple. They all screened for Bb. Pilipinas 2014, got eliminated in different stages and tried their luck in Miss Philippines Earth 2014. They are now green-lighted as Earth Warriors. For one of them – Diane Querrer – she was disqualified within 24 hours from announcement of Official Candidates after her height was measured to fall below the minimum limit. This is her 2nd attempt in the environment-focused tilt.
As for Janelle Tee and Mary Laverlyn Naluz, they made it to Top 60 but failed to advance to Top 40.
On the other hand, Hannah Caayon, Trixie Hipolito and Rosebel Bastasa reached the Top 74 but got cut on the way to Top 60.
This time around, they all made it to the list of fifty (50) Official Candidates.
Diane, Hannah, Janelle, Laverlyn, Trixie and Rosebel are now representing Tanauan City, Mandaue City, Davao City, Las Pinas City, Kidapawan City and Jose Dalman in Zamboanga del Norte, respectively.
Good luck, ladies! May what you did not achieve in Bb. Pilipinas 2014 be realized in Miss Philippines Earth 2014. 🙂
Hailing from Zamboanga del Norte, Rosebel Bastasa is now residing in Dipolog City.
Let’s turn our gaze now to the southern part of the country and feature a young lady who actually comes from Jose Dalman, Zamboanga del Norte but calls Dipolog City her home at the moment.
21 year-old Rosebel Bastasa was crowned Miss Mindanao 2013 last month where she represented Dapitan City. A Mass Communications cum laude from Saint Vincent’s College, she found employment at STI-Dipolog while getting all the opportunities to join smaller pageants prior to the latest regional title in her bio.
The 5’8″ charmer is reported to be taking the big step to Bb. Pilipinas 2014. Will she qualify? 😉
