Miss South Africa Liesl Laurie for Lipault Paris which will provide her luggage and handcarry for Miss World 2015
Since the contestant introduction videos for Miss World 2015 are now up in the pageant’s YouTube channel
, I took specific interest first on Miss South Africa Liesl Laurie who will go for a back-to-back win in the competition where her compatriot Rolene Strauss is the reigning titleholder. It sure won’t be easy considering what we all felt last year when Valerie Weigmann was the one gunning for the same with Megan Young as the outgoing Queen. There has to be a positive halo effect right from the start for us to feel if a particular delegate could be the right one for the job or not.
And with the changes that Julia Morley will start instituting in Sanya, who really knows what she is looking for in the next potential blue crown wearer.
Let’s watch Liesl’s video now. Switch to HD for better viewing pleasure. 🙂

Miss World 2014 Rolene Strauss
It has been mentioned before that Miss World 2014 Rolene Strauss might
grace the finals of Miss World Philippines 2015 come October 18. While this will make the event more exciting, I’m also aware that she is super busy nowadays. But hey, if she is able to squeeze in the time to reunite with Miss World 2013 Megan Young and Miss World Philippines 2014 Valerie Weigmann, then why not? It’s not like she will need to move heaven and earth just to make the trip to Manila, with Julia Morley accompanying as well.
Anyways, enjoy Rolene’s latest photos because she never fails to amaze me with her natural beauty and grace. 😉
Miss World 2014 Rolene Strauss (right) and Miss World 2012 Wenxia Yu in Sanya
Just so you know that Miss World 2015 is starting to go full swing in Sanya, China, a Press Launch was recently held to mark the upcoming hosting of the pageant in the Chinese resort city. Miss World 2014 Rolene Strauss and Miss World 2012 Wenxia Yu were in attendance to add more glitz to the event.
How I wish Miss Universe 2015 would already be showing signs of life by now. There are not so wild talks anymore that the host is likely to be Shanghai. But then again, such buzz remains unconfirmed and still floating in mid-air.
That would have been a small birthday wish add-on – to get a more concrete statement from Miss Universe Organization about this year’s host. Even if the pageant will still remain January, 2016 in schedule. I wish for something clearer about the 64th Miss Universe. 😉
Who to heavily promote Miss World 2015 first but to the host country itself
Miss World 2014 Rolene Strauss
Yesterday, the Miss World YouTube channel uploaded a promotional video of Miss World 2015 in Chinese. This only means that the Miss World Organization wants to hype the event to the host nation first to insure that their excitement starts rising up as early as now. And Julia Morley knows how to rally the Chinese support more than anyone else. After all, it has hosted her pageant several times in the past.
And don’t be surprised if Miss World 2014 Rolene Strauss makes another trip to Mainland China next month. Her appearances will boost the competition even more.
Watch the vid now.

While things are getting bad in Manhattan, New York and Baton Rouge, Louisiana for Miss USA 2015, the events are moving along quite swimmingly over at Washington DC where Miss World America 2015 will be elected at the Sphinx Club tonight. Miss World 2014 Rolene Strauss and Miss World England 2014 Carina Tyrell are already present as the VIP Guests of the organizers, and also to help Miss World America 2014 (and Miss World 2014 2nd Runner-Up) Elizabeth Safrit in crowning her successor.
While it seems that this national finals will pass with not much funfare attached to the main event, it can at least be proud of conducting the search without a hitch worth your upgraded standards of controversy.
My Top 10 favorites are host delegate Shannon Lynch of D.C., Teresa Scanlan of Nebraska, Rachel White of Texas, Ali Barros of Vermont, Dawn Logg of South Carolina, Kristy Landers Niedenfuer of Louisiana, Ivana Hall of Oklahoma, Cailyn Perez of Florida, Corrin Stellakis of Missouri and Salamasina Tuitama Salcido of American Samoa.
Best of luck to all the candidates, and may the most deserving lady be picked for that mission to Sanya, China come December. 🙂
Miss World 2013 Megan Young (left) and Miss World 2014 Rolene Strauss take a twofie in Barcelona
Megan walking around Barcelona before Rolene arrived
Miss World 2013 Megan Young and Miss World 2014 Rolene Strauss are currently in Barcelona, Spain as Special Guests of the ongoing Cine Europe Film Expo 2015 which features the latest independent and mainstream films from the continent’s top and upcoming filmmakers.
And what is a reunion without the mandatory bonding between the two gorgeous ladies? Having established themselves as good friends ever since the Miss World 2014 finals in London and Rolene’s visit to the country for the Beauty With A Purpose projects at PGH, they already feel quite comfy in each other’s company.
Enjoy Barcelona, ladies! 🙂
Miss World 2014 Rolene Strauss is definitely going back to Medical School next year
Where Rolene is studying
If you think Rolene Strauss is enjoying her reign as Miss World 2014, then you’re absolutely right. She is living the life of a big-time beauty queen to the fullest. And she has her commitment at 100%. But only up to the time that she fully serves her term and relinquishes the blue crown to her successor by December 19.
You see, Rolene considers her Miss World stint as simply living on beautifully borrowed time. And for the 2016 academic year, she is excited to return to her Medical Studies at the University of the Free State where she is currently in Senior Year before putting everything on hold when she won Miss South Africa and the larger pageant. In a latest Instagram post, she uploaded a photo of her study notes in Med School with the following caption:
“Playing ‘doctor’ with my dad at the hospital and had to brush up on some anatomy…Studying again next year and can’t not be ready”
So as you can see, Miss World 2014 is not about to overstay her welcome as a celebrity in the limelight. Her priorities are in place. And more than anything else, she would find self-actualization the moment she finally adds a different title to her name – M.D. (Doctor of Medicine). But before that happens, she will need to finish one more year to claim her MBcHB ( Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery) degree. 😉
