Earlier at the Diplomatic Hall of Marriott Hotel Manila, Mr. World 2018 got its proper media launch with the presence of Miss World 2017 Manushi Chhilar, Mister World 2016 Rohit Khandelwal, MWO’s Steve Douglas, MWPO’s Arnold Vegafria and Bessie Besana and Miss World Philippines 2017 Laura Lehmann.
The ssarch for the World’s Most Desirable Man – originally scheduled for a September, 2018 finals – has now been moved to January 27, 2019 at the Resorts World Manila to give the host country more time to prepare for the next edition which promises to have at least a hundred male delegates. Big number for a Male pageant!
Here are more photos from the said launch.

So Julia Morley has finally announced it yesterday. This year’s search for the World’s Most Desirable Man will take place in our shores in the third quarter when reigning winner Rohit Khandelwal of India will award his successor.
And this is also the reason why Mr. World Philippines 2018 will be finalized by May-June to give time to our representative and host delegate to prepare for the big competition.
Below is the statement released by Julia herself:
I am delighted to announce that Mr World 2018 will be held in beautiful ‘PHILIPPINES’.
MR WORLD FINAL – Sunday 16th September 2018
Full details of the Mr World 2018 event will be given at a press conference in Manila on 1st May 2018. The press conference will be broadcast live on Facebook and other media channels.
Five Asian winners in the international pageant stage for 2016 so far
Even in male pageants, Asian men are not lagging behind
Thailand won Miss Tourism Metropolitan International as well
To date, 2016 has been a harvest-filled year for Asians in the global pageant stage – both female and male categories. Miss International, Miss Supranational, Miss Grand International, The Miss Globe, Miss United Continents and Miss Tourism Metropolitan International have reigning winners from the continent courtesy of Kylie Verzosa, Srinidhi Shetty, Ariska Putri Pertiwi, Dimple Patel, Jeslyn Santos and Chalisa Amanda respectively.
On the other side, Mister World, Mister Model International, Mister Tourism World and Man of the Year are also now being held by Asians via Rohit Khandelwal, Narapat Sakunsong, Okkar Min Maung and Karan Singhdole respectively.
And the year is not over yet. With three more finals coming in soon – Miss World, Miss Tourism International and Miss Tourism Queen of the Year International – I bet the number will increase.
And mind you, I did not even include Miss Asia which has a Filipina titleholder as this contest is continent-focused.
Truly, Asia is in its best year of performance in international pageantry. 🙂
Catriona, Rohit and Mireia
The visit to Manila of Miss World 2015 Mireia Lalaguna and Mister World 2016 Rohit Khandelwal is decidedly low-key. It doesn’t help that their brief stay coincides with the flurry of Miss Earth 2016 activities that members of the media were torn as to which events to cover as the scheduled hours overlapped. At any rate, the charity visits to the Beauty With A Purpose (BWAP) Projects at the Philippine General Hospital (PGH) pushed through at the Cancer Pediatric Wards, as well as the activity at Tulay Foundation for differently-abled children and young teens.
Good friends Mireia and Miss World Philippines 2015 (and Miss World 2015 Top 10) Hillarie Parungao reunited as well. We can still remember them being close during last year’s competition in Sanya, China.
As for Rohit, the dashing Indian (aside from joining in the charity events) also met up with Miss World 2013 Megan Young and Miss World Philippines 2016 Catriona Gray. Shades of a dinner with a former titleholder, a reigning titleholder and possibly a future titleholder for Miss World Organization (MWO).
For now, the good-looking duo are still billeted at Conrad Manila but will be checking out soon to fly off to their next destination.

Hope you enjoyed your brief stay in Manila! 😉
Mister World 2016 Rohit Khandelwal of India
Miss World Mireia Lalaguna of Spain
The two will add glitter to the Miss World Philippines 2016 Finals
Miss World 2015 Mireia Lalaguna and Mister World 2016 Rohit Khandelwal will fly in to Manila to serve as judges during the finals of Miss World Philippines 2016. And due to the request of Julia Morley and the Miss World Organization (MWO) for the reigning titleholders to be accommodated, the Coronation Night has been effectively moved to October 9 – same venue at the Manila Hotel tent still.
This will definitely add that extra level of excitement because people will show more interest in the event. Let us hope that the organizers, network (GMA-7) and Viva Entertainment will be able to capitalize well on the presence of Mireia and Rohit.
And just to add an extra spice, Julia Morley might just be with them as well. 😉
Mr World 2016 Rohit Khandelwal of India
The Top 3 (left to right) 2nd RU Aldo Esparza Ramirez of Mexico, Mr World Rohit Khandelwal of India and 1st Runner-Up Fernando Alvarez of Puerto Rico
India won its first Mr World title by placing on top of the competition during the recently-concluded finals in Southport, UK hosted by Miss World 2013 Megan Young. He is an actor back in his home country, and is now tagged as “The World’s Most Desirable Man”.
Edged out for the title is 1st Runner-Up Fernando Alvarez of Puerto Rico who – inspite of missing the big win by just a few points- got some sort of vindication after missing out a Top 5 placement during Mister International 2015 in Manila.
Aldo Esparza Ramirez of Mexico completed the winning troika by snatching 2nd Runner-Up honors.
Our bet, Sam Ajdani, failed to advance to the semifinals. His late arrival in the competition might have costed him precious points in the fast-track segments and the over-all judging of the pre-pageant.
Congratulations to all the winners!
