Tomorrow night is the crowning moment for Miss Bohol 2015
I picked my Top 12 and divided them into two (2) groups. The first six are the ones I am hoping to see figuring out well in the judging, while the second set are potential sleepers (or spoilers if you will) for the win.

Miss Bohol 2015 will be crowned on July 18 at the Bohol Wisdom Gymnasium
Miss Bohol 2015 is going great guns for the latest edition once more. And with the twenty (20) Official Candidates for the title, the competition this year is anticipated to be tougher with most of the contenders having prepared long and hard for the provincial finals set for July 18 at the Bohol Wisdom Gymnasium. And just recently, they underwent a two-day pageant workshop with Rodgil Flores of KF. Talk about leveling up!

Aside from the July 18 Coronation Night which will be hosted by Bb. Pilipinas 2009 1st Runner-Up Rich Asuncion, model/actor Will Devaughn and fellow pageant blogger Raul Gatal, there will be a Talent Night at the Bohol Cultural Center on July 12, followed by the Gala Night on July 13. I love dogs. Whenever a movie revolves around one, I make an effort not to miss it. On Philippine TV, it’s rare to find a program that includes a canine character playing the title role, let alone a significant part. And GMA-7 is taking the risk of producing a primetime teleserye titled “Aso ni San Roque” (literally translated as ‘St. Roch’s Dog’) which stars child actress Mona Louise Rey along with Princess, a half-Cocker Spaniel half-Labrador Retriever, which used to be a bomb-sniffing dog before it was signed up by the network for the pivotal role of Anghel. You might remember the charming pooch sharing screen time with actor Eddie Garcia in the Cinemalaya indie favorite “Bwakaw“.

As for Mona Louise Rey, she is simply continuing her evolvement as a young actress-in-the-making. After proving her acting chops in “Munting Heredera” (Little Heiress) and “Luna Blanca” Book 1, she is now being challenged to play Fatima – a blind girl who was born to help stop the spread of evil gripping a fictional town. Together with her guardian dog and Mateo (the Chief of Police being played by TJ Trinidad), they should put their hands together to defeat the unrelenting forces of the dark.
“Aso ni San Roque” stars Mona Louise Rey, TJ Trinidad, LJ Reyes, Pen Medina, Gardo Verzosa, Paolo Contis, Angelika dela Cruz, Nova Villa, Rich Asuncion, Gwen Zamora, Buboy Garrovillo and Princess the dog. It will premiere tomorrow night on the second slot of GMA Telebabad which starts at around 8:45PM. 🙂

Jackie Rice gets the biggest break of her showbiz career as the lead star of "Sisid".

After being named as one of Seattle's Best Coffee's Skinny Vanilla Ambassadors plus getting signed up as one of Regal's Desirable Men, JC Tiuseco will now play the male lead in GMA-7's "Sisid".
Playing the men in Eden’s life are JC Tiuseco (as Ahmed) and Dominic Roco (as Siegfried). This series is actually the biggest break so far for all three leads after paying their dues in strings of supporting roles in the past. Other members of the cast are Angelu de Leon, Ian Batherson, LJ Reyes, Rich Asuncion, Alicia Meyer, Daniel Fernando, Maricar de Mesa and Bembol Roco, with actor Ricky Davao directing this time around.
“Sisid” will start airing this coming Monday, May 30, during GMA-7’s Dramarama sa Hapon block.
Beauty pageants are typically used by contestants and its winners as springboards to brighter career opportunities. For some, entering showbiz has become an inevitable proposition – much like previous Binibining Pilipinas winners like Miss Universe 1969 Gloria Diaz, Miss International 1979 Melanie Marquez, Miss International 2005 Precious Lara Quigaman, Maria Isabel Lopez, Joanne Santos (Quintas), Miriam Quiambao, Dindi Gallardo, Nina Ricci Alagao, Carlene Aguilar etc. So it doesn’t come very often when the reverse happens, i.e., someone already from showbiz joining the Binibining Pilipinas and winning a title (or placing in the Top 5) and then going back to the klieg lights of both TV and movies. Perhaps, it can be quite a risky move but not for the likes of Ruffa Gutierrez, Maggie Wilson, Rich Asuncion and even Sandra Seifert (who used to be a TV host before joining and backing out of Binibining Pilipinas and then rejoining the Miss Philippines-Earth and winning the same).
This year, one candidate stands out because of her very familiar face. Candidate #11, Krissa Mae Arietta Kleiner is already a permanent fixture in her home studio, GMA-7. She was initially the ‘Gobingo‘ girl of Arnel Ignacio when she started in the biz a couple of years back. From there, she went on to guest in several TV shows and regularly performed on Sunday’s SOP before landing full support roles in primetime shows like “Darna” and “Gagambino.” Following her fellow network colleague Rich Asuncion who joined and placed 1st Runner-Up in last year’s Binibining Pilipinas, she was groomed by the GMA Artist Center to be their bet this year. And for a good reason at that – Krissa Mae has excellent chances of actually bagging one of the crowns come March 6.

Although Krissa Mae is currently being tagged as the girlfirend of R&B Singer Jay-R, she continues to shine on her own given the fact that she has already paid a good chunk of her dues as a showbiz upstart. The 5’8″ Fil-American is serious about becoming a beauty queen. She believes that representing the Philippines in the international pageant arena is one way of paying homage and/or giving honor to one’s motherland.

I believe this girl has a lot to offer. In the talent competition of the pageant alone, she surprised everyone with her martial arts-themed song-and-dance number that might just net her the Miss Talent award. But more than this, Krissa Mae Kleiner has what it takes to join the troika of Binibining Pilipinas winners this year – not just because of her showbiz edge, but owing to the fact that she is beautiful, articulate, ever-smiling and more than ready to be one of the shining symbols of Filipina beauty in the global stage for 2010.
