Samantha Bernardo is on her third and final try in Bb. Pilipinas to get over the runner-up hump and prove herself crown-worthy enough to win a much-anticipated title so she can finally represent the country internationally. This Palaweña has done more than enough in her two previous attempts. And I personally believe that she could have managed a top podium finish last year. She may not be the best speaker among the Binibinis, but she can still carry her answers to completion and complete the entire puzzle that will make her a Queen. As I have mentioned in passing prior, she would have been a worthy representative to Miss Supranational 2019 had she not been pitted against Resham Saeed whose Q&A answer was scored more solidly by the judges.
This year, Sam is not without worthy adversaries. But I feel that she can mount her best game plan yet. Instead of overdoing all aspects in her preparations, she should come across as the more mature and reliable Binibini who can prove to be an asset for BPCI. And in this time when our favorite national beauty pageant needs the all-out support from everyone, having winners who will expertly protect and sustain the brand is a must.
This is where Sam (or Vickie Rushton for that matter) can fill in the void left by the departure of the Miss Universe Philippines title in the roster of crowns.
