She originally planned to become a Bb. Pilipinas Queen first. But who would have thought that fate would bring her halfway around the world to Bolivia in South America as Reina Hispanoamericana Filipinas 2017 and eventually establish pageant history as the first Filipina (and first Asian) to win the crown of Reina Hispanoamericana 2017.
Teresita Ssen “Win-Wyn” Marquez grew up in the world of local showbusiness and politics. Her parents – actor/comedian/former City Mayor Joey Marquez and actress Alma Moreno – eventually rubbed off the excitement of being in front of the camera to this exotic beauty whose dancing prowess and love for acting were put to good use when she became a TV celebrity with GMA-7.
But the performer in Win-Wyn wanted more than just the klieg lights and endless hours on the set. So when she finally decided to go the pageant route, it was just a matter of time before she would win a national title.
Sta. Cruz, Bolivia was an entirely unique experience for our Reina. Along with brother Yeoj, she withstood the city’s tropical savanna climate where “surazos” or the cold winds from the Argentine pampas make the temperature drop considerably.
She aggressively continued with her mission and unleashed the fiery performer in her to outclass all the Latinas in her way to be crowned as the best last year.
Win-wyn is now classified as a movie actress as well. She has also become a leading lady of comedian Vhong Navarro in the movie “Unli Life” and has just finished another one where she plays the prime character opposite actor Enzo Pineda.
Tonight (or tomorrow morning in Manila), she will crown her Reina Hispanoamericana successor and will return to Manila soon after to face more showbiz commitments. I offer now a toast to the woman who has helped in making the pageant brand become more popular in this part of the world and elsewhere. You have already started building your legacy, although I know there will be more to the current purpose in life that you are planning for yourself to achieve. Politics in a few years or so, perhaps?
Salud, Teresita Ssen!

She was also interviewed by GMA Pinoy TV while strolling through the autumn-surrounded environs of Central Park in Manhattan.
Win-Wyn will be flying back to Manila soon and touch down at NAIA Monday morning.
Watch out for her arrival!

Right after winning Reina Hispanoamericana 2017, Teresita “Win-Wyn” Marquez flew back to New York where she is currently spending a short vacation to rest, visit relatives/family friends and touch base with Fil-Am supporters who went all-out for her during the competition in Bolivia.
After Washington DC and Pennsylvania, she headed to Long Island where the topmost and bottom photos were taken (courtesy of my friend Felix Manuel). Along with brother Yeoj, she thanked the Filipinos who stayed by her side in support during her interview with the TFC Channel’s “Balitang America”.
Tomorrow, she will do a Grand Tour of Manhattan before finally packing her bags for her trip back to the Philippines on the night of the 11th. She will arrive in Manila mid-morning on Monday with the Victory Presscon tentatively scheduled for the afternoon.

Here are clear photos taken by the organizers on the victory of Reina Hispanoamericana 2017 Teresita “Win-Wyn” Marquez and her court composed of Virreina Akisha Albert of Curacao, Primera Finalista Lais Berte of Brazil, Segunda Finalista Victoria D’Ambrosio of Venezuela, Tercera Finalista Karla Berumen of Mexico and Quarta Finalista Katherine Añazgo of Bolivia.
Let us now see the graduation rise of the Reina Hispanoamericana brand globally the way Filipinos have helped jack up the popularity of Miss Supranational when Mutya Datul won in Belarus past 2013.
With only twenty-seven (27) Official Candidates for Reina Hispanoamericana 2017, you would think it’s easy to come up with Final Predictions for the Coronation Night in Sta. Cruz, Bolivia tomorrow night (Sunday morning in Manila). Well, it could be. But with twenty-four of them certified Latinas or fully-connected Hispanics and only three who are participating based on the Spanish links, the choices can get tricky in a way that the dominating forces may tend to take it all the way to the top.
My Top 10 – in alphabetical order according to countries represented – are:
Bolivia – Katherine Añazgo
Brazil – Lais Berte
Ecuador – Nicole Hidalgo
España – Jessica Gonzalez
Filipinas – Teresita Marquez
Panama – Carolina Castillo
Puerto Rico – Kristina Velez
Rep. Dominicana – Lowanny Tavarez
Uruguay – Magdalena Cohendet
Venezuela – Ma. Victoria D’Ambrosio
Going to my Top 5, I have three (3) good arguments why I am putting Miss Filipinas Teresita Marquez as my #1 pick to win the title.
1) Our bet is doing very well all-around and she is really keeping her consistency at an all-time high to make sure that her bid is not side-tracked by anyone else;
2) Making Miss Filipinas win as Reina Hispanoamericana 2017 will create wonders for the brand itself. It is high time for this title to zoom up in popularity considering its long existence and having a good social media and showbusiness influencer like Win-Wyn as spokesperson makes good business sense. Yes, her facility in Spanish is seriously wanting. But that is where the organizers (and 1st Runner-Up) will come in handy.
3) An Asian – and a Filipina at that – winner will make Reina Hispanoamericana a global pageant instead of just being tagged an exclusive regional search.
Teresita Marquez – normannorman.com’s pick to win Reina Hispanoamericana 2017
I would seriously like to have Magdalena Cohendet if Uruguay as her 1st Runner-Up after personally meeting this Latina during the 65th Miss Universe here in Manila. But if either Lais Berte of Brazil or host delegate Katherine Añazgo are given the slot, a Top 5 placement would sit well with me still.
Good luck to everyone in the finals, especially Miss Filipinas!
As Miss Ipanema Girl

Looks like our bet is headed for something great in South America!
Yes, the struggle is real for Miss Filipinas in Reina Hispanoamericana 2017 Teresita “Win-Wyn” Marquez when it comes to the limited facility in the Spanish language, but she is getting precious help from fellow candidates in translation especially during TV guestings and personal appearances. In particular, she is thankful for the generous assistance of the candidates from Nicaragua, Paraguay, Cuba and Panama in helping interpret her answers from English to Spanish and vice-versa.
By the way, the swimsuit and evening gown photos in this entry are from the Candidates’ Presentation in Sta. Cruz, Bolivia.

She left Manila at around 15:00 hours yesterday from NAIA Terminal 2.
Right now, Teresita Marquez is still queueing for the Copa Airlines flight that will connect her from Panama City – the 4th and last segment that will bring her to Sta. Cruz – host city of Reina Hispanoamericana 2017.
Indeed, this is a very looong trip for our bet and her brother Yeoj.
Get ready for her arrival several hours from now (or before midnight later), Bolivia! 🇵🇭👑🛫
Reina Hispanoamericana Filipinas 2017 Teresita Ssen “Win-Wyn” Marquez has already departed for her long plane trip (with three stopovers in Vancouver, Toronto and Panama) to Sta. Cruz, Bolivia where she will join the other candidates who will vie for Reina Hispanoamericana 2017. Actually, she will arrive two days ahead of schedule in the host city so she can acclimatize herself to the thin-air weather.
And during last Wednesday afternoon’s send-off, Win-Wyn arrived ahead of schedule so it allowed your blogger to conduct an on-the-spot interview when the other media guests have not yet poured in.

By the way, photo on the right shows Win-Wyn before she checked in for her PAL flight yesterday noontime at Terminal 2.
