If there is one Pinoy Indie flick I am so hyped to watch this 2013, it’s my good friend Mae Paner‘s grand launching vehicle on the big screen, aptly titled “Juana C. the Movie”. Based on the out-of-the-box character ‘Juana Change‘ she made popular online (and on the news) the past year, I expect this one to be the delectably biting satire of a comedic film that is guaranteed to make you read between the lines (or scenes if you will) while laughing your heart out.
And did I say that the whole project is literally and figuratively a labor of love for everyone involved? In fact, I could have asked Ms. Juana C. (whom I love dearly) herself to include your blogger for even a walk-on or bystander part gratis. But their shooting dates went by so quickly that I’ve barely gotten myself out of bed and principal photography has already been completed! Anyways, watch the teaser below…

The movie is produced by Raymond Lee and directed by Jade Castro – the duo who gave us the memorably gay box-office hit “Zombadings” two years back. Several film, TV and theatre personalities (like Joel Torre, Ronnie Lazaro, Nino Muhlach, John James Dy, Orlando Sol, Soxie Topacio, Madlen Nicolas, Liesl Batucan, Annika Dolonius, Angelina Sparks Kanapi, Lauren Novero, Soliman Cruz, Angeli Bayani, Perry Dizon, Jelson Bay, and more) graciously contributed by playing colorful characters that are sure to tickle your funny bones. By the way, the prolific Rody Vera wrote the script so there must be more to it than a long string of punchlines and/or in-your-face slapstick. Add to that Production Designer Reggie Regalado & Cinematographer Mike Manalastas and you have a well-made movie – performance, content and technical aspects included.
From Laganap Productions, Juana C. the Movie is cumoming your way this summer! 😀
