I was a Career Planning teacher for almost a decade before finally hitting it full-time in pageantry and coaching/mentoring. And it always gives me a solid sense of high to see wide-eyed amd enthusiastic kids and teens transformed right before my eyes. They may have different reasons to participate in my Personality Development and Modelling workshops, but one thing stands clear: everyone wants to become better versions of themselves. Some of them are nurturing dreams of joining beauty pageants someday, with the rest encouraged by their respective parents to learn and be trained by a knowledgeable practitioner in the field of public speaking and presentation as a whole.
Kids are not the easiest to mold, believe me. But they are the ones who always perform beyond expectations and deliver results that are nothing short of amazing. Coupled with the teen spirit of ambition and determination, the whole group becomes an exciting mix of education and fun and self-discovery.
Take for example the recently-concluded 2-day workshop I conducted for Les Elite Societe in General Santos City. It was an opportunity I grabbed upon first offer because I know that it will be such an amazing experience. At first, I thought that it would be an uphill climb to transform the joiners into confident and show-ready models and young individuals. But much to my surprise, it was a smooth experience that made it easy for me to inject the changes that will be beneficial to their improvement.
And I was right. The culminating fashion show at Robinsons Place Gensan that capped the whole exercise was a successful event that made big dreamers out of everyone. And I am so pleased to have been part of their journey, however brief it was. 🙂
