Angelique has waited long enough. Could 2017 be her winning year in Bb. Pilipinas?
Angelique de Leon is one of two three-peaters in Bb. Pilipinas 2017 (Liezel Ramos is the other one). And from the two years that she was handled by R-L’s Angels, will the move to a bigger camp (Kagandahang Flores
) spell the big difference?
This Binibini has paid her dues quite handsomely from where I stand. From the time that she made a splash in the nationals alongside Aiza Faeldonia, she moved on to take solo flight last year – the time when everyone was expecting her to nail a victory or a good placement at the very least. And she is not lacking in the looks and curves department, just as her English communication skills cannot be taken for granted. Is 2017 the right time for her to finally move up several notches, make Top 15 and possibly go for the jugular with a hard-earned win?
Gut-feel is telling me that this could be her best performing year. But as to what rank, it will all be revealed come April 30. Will the hashtag #AngeliQueen finally be sealed in stone?
Your inputs, dear readers. 🙂
Aiza Faeldonia is bound for Lebanon next month
Everyone was expecting Aiza Faeldonia to join the beeline for Bb. Pilipinas 2016 for one last time because – at age 26 – this would have been her last chance to do so.
But no. This statuesque lady from Sultan Kudarat had a more sure thing in mind. She wanted to represent the Philippines overseas. So when negotiations started for her to be the country’s bet in World Next Top Model 2016, she focused her mind on clinching the deal. And she did!
Now titled as World Next Top Model Philippines 2016, Aiza will travel to Beirut, Lebanon from May 16-June 1 where the finals will be held.
Best of luck, Aiza!
I sincerely wish Aiza all the best. After the heartbreaking loss of Angelique de Leon in the nationals, she could be the flickering hope of R-L’s Angels to do well abroad. She needs to step up and do the Philippines proud in World Next Top Model 2016. And I believe she can! 🙂
These six beauties come from the smaller pageant training groups for Bb. Pilipinas 2016
We are already familiar with them – the four individuals who have formed their own smaller camps to train and polish ladies for Bb. Pilipinas 2016. And mind you, it really takes a lot of effort and sacrifices to even get through the tough screening of the nationals. So I give my well-deserved kudos for entering two (2) Official Candidates each to:
John Dela Vega of Team JDV who has Jeslyn Santos and Christianne Ramos making it.
RL de Leon Lacanienta of R-L’s Angels for getting in Angelique de Leon and Daziella Gange.
The siblings Jontie & Nickky Martinez of Galatea for stepping it up for Jennyline Carla Malpaya and Leonalyn dela Cruz
Truth be told, each one of them can give really good fights in the competition despite being the Davids to the Goliaths of Aces & Queens and KF. During last Friday’s screenings, in fact, Angelique de Leon (for her wit and joie-de-vivre), Jeslyn Santos (for her much improved version) and Jennyline Carla Malpaya (for her very exotic features and color) registered very well among members of the panel.
Also, you just cannot simply count out Daziella Gange who is Miss Heritage Pilipinas 2015 (she represented us and placed 1st Runner-Up during Miss Heritage in South Africa), Christianne Ramos who is Miss Charity Queen Philippines 2015 (she represented us during Miss Charity Queen International 2015 in Taiwan) and Leonalyn dela Cruz, a Professional Model who has vastly gained a lot of experience on the ramp to strut her way more confidently.
Who will shine bright? JDV, R-L or Galatea?
We shall see! 😉
Who do you see shining among them?
Ria Rabajante during her second and latest Bb. Pilipinas attempt
During Bb. Pilipinas 2015 last April, Ria Rabajante – pinned as Binibini 3 – made her second appearance as an Official Candidate. She was already 25 back then. And just two days ago, she turned 26 – the ceiling age limit of Bb. Pilipinas. And you know what that means. She only has the 2016 edition as her one final chance to try for a crown in the nationals.
Ria really wants to give it a third try. She is quite firm about this more than anything else. And proof positive that she is serious is the latest development (as relayed to me by someone close to her) that she has decided to switch camps in an effort to see how she can be transformed by new handlers. A much better version, if you will. From R-L’s Angels, she is now reportedly deep in training with one of the two leading groups.
I am very keen in finding out how Ria will be packaged differently. This girl has got the brains, charm and poise to nail a crown. Who knows, 3rd time could be a charm for her. And Bb. Pilipinas 2016 will be her make-or-break turn.
Good luck, Ria! 😉

Miss Filipinas Heritage 2015 Maria Daziella Gange as photographed by RL Lacanienta)
Maria Daziella ‘Daz’ Lazaro Gange is the first national beauty titleholder of R-L’s Angels, and the whole team is mighty proud of this lovely lass from Guimaras Island. As Miss Filipinas Heritage 2015, she will be the country’s representative to Miss Heritage 2015 to be held in Johannesburg, South Africa this coming November 15 (so many pageants are really happening next month
). And just to add more spice to the challenge, she will be going for a back-to-back country win since Odessa Mae Tadaya is the reigning title holder.
But trust Daz to give it her absolute best. With the all-out help of her beauty camp, she will go to the Sandton Convention Center in Gauteng armed with the confidence and determination of a winner. And I’m pretty sure she will also get a lot of support from her home province.
This pretty Nurse – who does have a striking semblance to Miss Universe 1969 Gloria Diaz – has come a long way. And by the look of things, she just might be headed for a more fruitful journey up ahead.
Good luck in Miss Heritage 2015, girl! 🙂
Good luck in Zimbabwe, Daz!
