Pardon the quality of Queenie Rehman's photo above. It is the only decent shot available online of her solo walk on the ramp during the World Designer Event of Miss World 2012.
This post is pretty much self-explanatory. After watching the video above, you can’t help but be incited into supporting our Queenierich Rehman in her bid to become the first Filipina Miss World. The objective won’t be easy, but neither is it insurmountable.

What mystery is neatly and oh-so carefully wrapped inside this Michael Cinco package? Well, the cat is out of the bag anyways. At least not completely.
It’s no secret that internationally renowned Pinoy fashion designer Michael Cinco has offered to do the main evening gowns of Miss World Philippines 2012 Queenierich Rehman for the international competition. True to his promise, the creations arrived the other day. Aces & Queens’ Jonas Gaffud exclaimed that “…the gowns fit perfectly!”
This is NOT the Michael Cinco creation for Queenie Rehman, just a sample of one of his designs. I would love to see Miss World Philippines in a similar piece, though.

Call her the missing member in the country’s roster of representatives for the Grand Slam beauty pageants of 2012. Miss World Philippines 2012 Queenie Rehman is last in, first out, i.e., last to be crowned nationally and first to compete internationally. Additionally, she carries the big weight on her shoulders to match – if not surpass – Gwendoline Ruais’ fantastic 2nd-place finish in Miss World 2011. And for this reason alone, we should give her our full support in Miss World 2012. The month of July is just a few days away, and by the middle part, she will already be sent-off to China to start her battle with more than a hundred beauties from all over.
It won’t be an easy journey for this Filipina-Pakistani looker. The unwelcome tension brought about by the political friction between the Philippines and China adds to the crazy equation. But if she sticks to her gameplan like a pageant pro, there should be no big obstacle to stand in her way. And for Pinoy pageant fanatics out there to whom money is no object, then you should start booking your flights to/accommodations in Ordos to cheer her during the MW homestretch by mid-August.

2012 is another winning year for Aces & Queens. Following their triumphant 2011 which saw both of their entries Shamcey Supsup and Gwendoline Ruais topping the national pageant season and eventually placing prominently well in their respective competitions abroad, here comes another tandem that will prove once and for all which beauty camp is the best in the Philippines.
Miss Universe Philippines 2012 Janine Tugonon and Miss World Philippines 2012 Queenierich Rehman are proud products of Jonas Gaffud’s Aces & Queens. Both ladies are bannering the country’s participation in the two biggest pageants in the globe. I salute everyone involved in training and polishing these two ‘quality’ ladies.
It goes without saying that we should support Janine and Queenie every step of the way. Their predecessors are tough acts to follow, but the challenge to match or exceed the same should push them to the fullest of their potentials. The pressure to sustain the momentum could definitely approach breaking point. But if they are destined to be successful, then nothing is impossible. 🙂

This is a belated post since Miss World Philippines 2011 and Miss World 2011 1st Princess Gwendoline Ramos Ruais already relinquished her crown to Miss World Philippines 2012 Queenierich Rehman last Sunday night.
But better late than never. I just want to extend my heartfelt thanks to Gwen for serving as an inspiration to Filipinos around the world during the past 12 months. Her memorable 2nd place finish (missing the crown by only a single point) to Miss World 2011 Ivian Sarcos in London is an achievement that won’t be easily forgotten. And whatever annoying kinks dampened the last seven days of her reign, she still proved to everyone her professionalism and went on to crown her successor.
From hereon, best of luck in whatever challenges and endeavors you intend to pursue. Bask in the afterglow, but push for continued success in everything you focus yourself on. God bless! 😀

And the final member of Team Filipinas is crowned!
At the end of glittering ceremonies at the Manila Hotel Tent, Queenierich Rehman bested 24 other candidates to be crowned Miss World Philippines 2012 and become the country’s representative to Miss World 2012 to be held in Ordos, Inner Mongolia, China on August 18. She is only the 2nd Filipina to claim the national title, following Gwendoline Ruais in last year’s inaugural outing of the MW-dedicated pageant.
Together with the winner are her four princesses (runners-up) who make up the Top 5. They are 1st Princess Mary Anne Ross Misa, 2nd Princess Vanessa Claudine Ammann, 3rd Princess April Love Jordan and 4th Princess Brenna Cassandra Gamboa. The remaining ladies who placed in the Top 12 semifinals are Rufaida Babudin, Paulina Eliseeff, Kay Wigand, Carla Lizardo, Mariver Ocampo, Marie Loraine de Guzman and Vania Valiry Vispo.
Starting from this point, Queenie will only have three weeks to do final preparations for Miss World 2012. By mid-July, she will be given a formal send-off by Pageant Director Cory Quirino, before joining more than a hundred delegates from around the globe in different parts of China.
Best of luck, Queenie! Bring home that elusive Miss World crown! 😀

In my Top 12, the crossover joiners definitely have the edge. It only goes to show that ‘practice makes perfect’, and the polish reflects in how ladies like Queenie Rehman, April Love Jordan, Mary Anne Misa, Fer Mary Baliquig, Carla Lizardo and even Loraine de Guzman present themselves in all the competition’s pre-pageant activities. But I’m giving props to the newbies as well because they are capable of stealing the limelight if one (or two) of the front-runners stumble along the way. Personally, I consider Fil-French Natacha Kristel Peugniez as the most promising first-timer, followed by Kaye Wigand and Maham Ahmed.

My Top 5 is a breeze to cast. Four of the ladies are almost expected to make it this far, namely, Queenierich, April Love, Mary Anne and Brenna. I was fiddling between Natacha Kristel and Fer Mary for the 5th slot. In the end, I went with the Fil-French beauty because this girl is very likely to surprise in the final interview.
Queenierich Rehman is my pick to win Miss World Philippines 2012.

I covered all bases and Queenierich is the one who filled the requirements of an ideal ‘Miss World 2012’ candidate.* The crown is hers to lose. So if she (God forbid) fumbles with the Q&A, then that’s already outside my sphere of predictions. As alternative, I won’t feel bad seeing Brenna Cassandra Gamboa taking her place. Mary Anne Ross Misa somehow fell short in my rankings. I don’t want to call it moving past her prime, but it’s as if her luster started gradually vanishing as the big night approaches. But who knows what she has in store for us and the judges tonight. She might just end up proving me wrong. On the other hand, Natacha Kristel Peugniez zoomed into my final 5 and is poised to spoil even the top seeds. It won’t frazzle me if she ends up with a placement higher than what I pegged her with. In the final analysis, though, the quartet of Queenie, April, Mary Anne and Brenna is simply unyielding.
The finals will commence at the Manila Hotel Tent at around 6pm. And you can watch the TV telecast over TV5 starting at 8:30pm or 9pm, depending on what exact time Talentadong Pinoy wraps up.
* – I clearly specified an ideal ‘Miss World 2012’ candidate because I took into consideration the host country (and host city in particular) plus the evolving vision of the pageant. I think Julia Morley will be looking for a next winner who could redefine a world representative with multiple skills and talents, a lady who won’t mind getting down and dirty for all the charitable projects of MW, and in the process, personify a true beauty with a purpose.

So back to my original question. Will the crown fit Queenierich Rehman in more ways than one? I say yes. Let’s see if good fortune awaits her on June 24. She can always fly the skies as a Flight Attendant later on if being a beauty queen isn’t meant for her. 😉
