If Brazil is hosting Miss Universe 2011, will a game of soccer be far behind? Of course not! Some of the girls were game enough to engage in a fun match of kicking and running in the field while wearing their most colorful uniforms of the sport. Host delegate Priscila Machado led the charge and you can see how much adrenaline-pumping moves they did. Check them out!

What’s a beauty pageant without beach scenes? So the Miss Universe 2011 delegates have been whisked to Praia de Enseada for a day of taping and frolicking in its cool waters. It is cold in Sao Paulo right now, but nothing beats parading in two piece swimwears and sexily posing to photographers.

All work and no play can always dull anyone up. The same applies to the 2011 Miss Universe candidates who took some time off from their heectic schedule to dance the night away at The Society, one of Sao Paulo’s hottest night spots. They were accompanied by reigning Miss Universe Ximena Navarrete and 2010 Miss Brazil Debora Lyra. Check out the pictures below courtesy of fotoarena.com.br:

Priyani Puketapu of Wellington was crowned Miss Universe New Zealand 2011
Ok, don’t go reeling your green mind and casting a naughty spell on her name. After all, it’s one of the things that makes Priyani Puketapu unique. When she won the right to represent New Zealand in the 2011 Miss Universe Pageant in Sao Paolo, Brazil, this Wellington native has started to set her sights on bringing honor to her country by performing (or placing) well in the biggest global beauty competition.
Priyani is actually a true-blue Kiwi with her Maori heritage contributing to a warming effect on her natural beauty.
Stats-wise, she is 20 years old, stands 1.72m tall and is currently studying for a Bachelor of Communications degree, majoring in Journalism.
So how will Priyani fare side-by-side the fierce candidates she will compete with in Brazil? I’m not too keen on her prospects of winning the top prize itself, but she can surely make her presence felt by just being her natural self. Who knows? She might just catch the attention of everyone and take a shine from the organizers. If that happens, then the Miss Universe Pageant can at least prove itself open to all types of ladies and not just the unstoppable Latinas or doll-like Europeans. But then again, the Asians are also a force to reckon with so it makes her gameplan all the more complex in a way. Let’s see what’s in store for her. 😉
