The MPE2017 Candidates with last night’s judges for the Beauty of Face Pre-Judging
The order for last night’s Beauty of Face Preliminary Judging for Miss Philippines Earth 2017 at F1 Hotel Manila was loud and clear. Faces will be judged. No make-ups. No frills. Just plain natural looks that should be projected by each candidate. And the ladies followed.
All dressed in white, they paraded in front of the judges – composed of Photographer Raymund Isaac, Designer Mixy Valencia, Beauty Queens Justine Gabionza & Priscilla Meirelles, Personality Coach Ping Valencia and Fashion Stylist/Model Bea Constantino.
Check out some of the photos below. A lot of them actually looked more fetching without heavy makeup and in person so judging was not the easiest.
Pinay Beauty Queen Grand International 2015 to be crowned September 15!
24 Pinays are vying for the crown
Season 2 of Pinay Beauty Queen Academy is still continuously airing on GMA News TV every weekends. But this early, the Coronation Night has already been set for September 15 at the Newport Performing Arts Theater of Resorts World Manila where one of the twenty-four (24) contenders will be named Pinay Beauty Queen Grand International 2015 and become the country’s representative to Miss Grand International 2015 happening in Bangkok, Thailand on October 26.
Who will take it all the way? A girl from Team Bea? Team Shamcey? Team Priscilla? Or Team Nina?
The winner of PBQA Season 2 will go to Bangkok, Thailand for Miss Grand International 2015
If you missed watching the reality-based pageant’s first three (3) episodes, below are the installments in proper order.

Later at 5:30PM, the premiere episode of Pinay Beauty Queen Academy Season 2
will air on GMA News TV and every Saturday and Sunday thereafter. Aside from having four (4) new mentors – Bea Rose Santiago, Shamcey Supsup, Priscilla Meirelles and Nina Ricci Alagao – to follow, what will make this program more interesting to watch is that the eventual winner will become the Philippine representative to Miss Grand International 2015
in Bangkok, Thailand come October.
So make sure you catch the start and see who among the contenders are potential winners of the crown! Miss Grand Philippines 2013 Ali Forbes will host, together with Wilma Doesnt. 😉
Here’s the teaser vid of the program.

Pinay Beauty Queen Academy Season 2 will have its kick-off regional/provincial screening come May 17. Interestingly, the event will take place alongside the Fertility Festival of Obando, Bulacan. But I’m not reading much into the coincidence because there is just no relation at all. If at any, the atmosphere should be entirely festive.
Host Ali Forbes will be there with the four (4) new mentors – Miss International 2013 Bea Rose Santiago, Miss Universe 2012 3rd Runner-Up Smacey Supsup-Lee, Miss Earth 2004 Priscilla Meirelles and Bb. Pilipinas Universe 2000 Nina Ricci Alagao.
Watch out for the show’s premiere episode on June 21 to be aired over GMA News TV, and every Saturday & Sunday thereafter. 😉

Olga (foreground, sitting) with family members last Christmas 2014
Personally, Miss Earth 2011 Olga Alava is one of my three favorite Miss Earth winners to date (the two others are Catharina Svensson of Denmark and Priscilla Meirelles of Brazil
). She has this very down-to-earth (no pun intended
) and approachable vibe that continues to make people warm up to her quite easily. And knowing that she loves Asia more than anywhere else (outside her beloved Ecuador, of course
), the reign she served for one full year was filled with so many wonderful memories, not to mention the cause-driven activities she took to heart.
Olga has been living a far more normal life in Guayaquil where she works at Almetal SA and does TV Presenting work for Ecuavisa‘s Gente. The good thing is that she continues to be a good role model for the environment, and keeps an air of positivity all throughout. You can check her Facebook page to find out what she has been up to.

A more interesting set of mentors (left to right): Miss International 2013 Bea Rose Santiago, Miss Universe 2011 3rd Runner-Up Shamcey Supsup-Lee, Miss Earth 2004 Priscilla Meirelles and Bb. Pilipinas Universe 2000 Nina Ricci Alagao.
Ali Forbes is still the host
Pinay Beauty Queen Academy is definitely upping the ante for its 2nd Season. With its eventual winner becoming the country’s official representative to Miss Grand International 2015 in Bangkok, Thailand, the show has introduced four (4) new mentors and they are Miss International 2013 Bea Rose Santiago, Miss Earth 2004 Priscilla Meirelles, Miss Universe 2011 3rd Runner-Up Shamcey Supsup-Lee and Bb. Pilipinas Universe 2000 Nina Ricci Alagao. The four will be joined by Wilma Doesnt who will act as the Training Supervisor of the contestants.
This early, I have a feeling that the reality beauty search will attract more potential candidates (read: higher quality of joiners) to complete the list of forty (40) they are planning to begin with.

Ali Forbes continues on as the show’s host, just as Season 2 has stayed put with GMA News TV as the airing network.
Watch out for more about the show’s regional screenings in the coming weeks ahead!
Season 2 will start screening very soon!
Miss Earth Brazil 2013 Priscilla Martins
Priscilla (or Priscila) seems to be quite a popular name in Brazil. Three good examples are Priscila Machado who placed 3rd in Miss Universe 2011, Priscila Zandoná who was Miss Earth-Air in 2003 and Priscilla Meirelles who was named Miss Earth 2004. Now comes Priscilla Martins, Brazil’s bet for Miss Earth 2013 (watch her eco-beauty clip below).
The 21 year-old 5’9″ beauty is a Law student who works as a Professional Model on the side. She took over the title from Camila Brant who went on to place 4th (or Miss Earth-Fire) during the Versailles Alabang finals last year.
With Brazil’s record of elemental placements in Miss Earth, will this Priscilla add a new one to the list? 😉
