Rachelle Ann Go did (half of) a “Pink” in Party Pilipinas

Remember the last Grammy Awards where international artist Pink sang “Glitter in the Air” while being suspended in mid-air and then submerged in a pool of water before continuing with her number. Well, local singer Rachelle Ann Go tried to do half of that stunt while flawlessly singing “Empire State of Mind” in last Sunday’s Party Pilipinas of GMA-7. I must admit that she had a lot of guts pulling something like that and how. Nerves of steel, for sure, because there is no other way of doing it than relying on her pure talent and inner strength. My heart skipped a beat, so applause for the emerging diva who can take the place of Regine Velasquez any minute now.

Pink’s amazing performance at the Grammy Awards

I really need to share this with you, my dear readers. Did you watch Grammy Awards the other night? And if you did, don’t you find Pink’s performance of the song “Have You Ever Live” simply amazing and breathtaking? I mean, I haven’t seen anyone pull out a stunt like that while singing. She was hoisted in the air and hanging by her legs on a long piece of white cloth. Not only that she was twirling like crazy during her number. Any weak-hearted person would easily throw up. And it did not stop there, she was lowered down again and submerged in a pool of water for about 30 seconds and then hoisted back up. This time, she was twirling wet and whisking water all over the audience like an inverted human sprinkler. Whew! Talk about outclassing Beyonce’s (which was presented right before Pink’s number) fabulous “If I Were A Boy” act, she slew the other guest performers.

A wet and dripping Pink, right after she was submerged in a pool of water, then hoisted back in the air and delicately hanging by her thigh and lower back.

Must-buy CD: Adam Lambert “For Your Entertainment”

Are you a big fan of Adam Lambert? Yes, that guy with the fantastic vocal range who placed runner-up to Kris Allen in this year’s Americal Idol and who stirred controversy at the recent American Music Awards by locking lips with another guy during the tailend of his production number.

So are you a fan of Adam Lambert? I know I am. I just got hold of his debut CD “For Your Entertainment” via iTunes and can’t help but gush over the line-up. Except for a couple of ditties that do not hook me up instantly, the rest of the songs (16 all in all inclusive of two bonus track downloads from iTunes) are pure ear-candies in a very substantial pop-glam-rock way. My top picks are, of course, “For Your Entertainment”, “Whataya Want From Me?”, “Time for Miracles” and “If I Had You.” By the way, there are superstar cameos by Pink, Lady Gaga, Rivers Cuomo of Weezer, Matthew Bellamy of Muse and Justin Hawkins of The Darkness. What more can you ask for?

This is one explosive cd album. You won’t regret buying it.
