John dela Vega has a new pageant franchise, and it’s Miss Bikini Universe that will have its 2015 finals at the Grand Hyatt Hotel Shenzhen in Shenzhen, China on November 16, 2015.

The girl chosen to represent the Philippines in the said beauty competition is 18 year-old Yhesley Cardano Cabanos who we can remember as the winner of Pinay Beauty Queen Academy Season 2 (where she was trained by Nina Ricci Alagao). She is also a product of Kagandahang Flores, the camp which initially fielded her in Mutya ng Pilipinas 2014 (see her twin photos in the featured image above).

This young lass is determined to show her best qualities and to do the country proud in the said competition. She will leave on November 5 for Shenzhen.

24 Pinays are vying for the crown

Season 2 of Pinay Beauty Queen Academy is still continuously airing on GMA News TV every weekends. But this early, the Coronation Night has already been set for September 15 at the Newport Performing Arts Theater of Resorts World Manila where one of the twenty-four (24) contenders will be named Pinay Beauty Queen Grand International 2015 and become the country’s representative to Miss Grand International 2015 happening in Bangkok, Thailand on October 26.

Who will take it all the way? A girl from Team Bea? Team Shamcey? Team Priscilla? Or Team Nina?

Later at 5:30PM, the premiere episode of Pinay Beauty Queen Academy Season 2 will air on GMA News TV and every Saturday and Sunday thereafter. Aside from having four (4) new mentors – Bea Rose Santiago, Shamcey Supsup, Priscilla Meirelles and Nina Ricci Alagao – to follow, what will make this program more interesting to watch is that the eventual winner will become the Philippine representative to Miss Grand International 2015 in Bangkok, Thailand come October.

So make sure you catch the start and see who among the contenders are potential winners of the crown! Miss Grand Philippines 2013 Ali Forbes will host, together with Wilma Doesnt. 😉

The venue of the screening and tonight's show

Today is the scheduled screening of Bicol Region applicants for Pinay Beauty Queen Academy Season 2. Registration (and actual screening) will start at 1 pm till 5pm.

And at 6pm, a show will commence with the participation of some of the show’s resident Beauty Queens (like Shamcey Supsup-Lee & Ali Forbes) and regulars like Wilma Doesnt, plus homegrown talents from the host province.

Pinay Beauty Queen Academy will premiere June 21 on GMA News TV.

Starting next month, the provincial screenings for Pinay Beauty Queen Academy Season 2 will start with stops in Batangas (Nasugbu) and the Bicol Region (Albay). Schedules for Visayas, Mindanao and Northern Luzon will follow afterwards before the important final phases of selecting the ultimate qualifiers who will make the Top 40 from where the eventual winner – Pinay Beauty Queen Academy-Miss Grand International 2015 – will come from.

Host Ali Forbes will lead the screening team, along with the four (4) new mentors – 2013 Miss International Bea Rose Santiago, 2011 Miss Universe 3rd Runner-Up Shamcey Supsup-Lee, 2004 Miss Earth Priscilla Meirelles and 2000 Bb. Pilipinas Universe Nina Ricci Alagao.

Pinay Beauty Queen Academy is definitely upping the ante for its 2nd Season. With its eventual winner becoming the country’s official representative to Miss Grand International 2015 in Bangkok, Thailand, the show has introduced four (4) new mentors and they are Miss International 2013 Bea Rose Santiago, Miss Earth 2004 Priscilla Meirelles, Miss Universe 2011 3rd Runner-Up Shamcey Supsup-Lee and Bb. Pilipinas Universe 2000 Nina Ricci Alagao. The four will be joined by Wilma Doesnt who will act as the Training Supervisor of the contestants.

This early, I have a feeling that the reality beauty search will attract more potential candidates (read: higher quality of joiners) to complete the list of forty (40) they are planning to begin with.

Ali Forbes continues on as the show’s host, just as Season 2 has stayed put with GMA News TV as the airing network.

Season 2 of the Reality Pageant search on TV will have its winner sent to MGI2015

pbqa1 Miss Grand Philippines – the title – will no longer exist this year. In its place, there will be a Pinay Beauty Queen Grand International 2015 who will be the successor of last year’s Kimberly Karlsson. And the winner of Season 2 of the reality TV pageant search will be going to Bangkok, Thailand come October.

Since John dela Vega and Ali Forbes will continue to be involved in the same, there’s really no issue at all when it comes to calling the winner as such and not Miss Grand Philippines 2015. It’s a pity the winner of Season 1 can no longer lay claim to this new development. Joana Angelica Romero would have been one happy lady.

Alas, the rightful rep will still be determined by May 2015.
