If only all four of them ended up fighting for Miss World Philippines 2014.
But the dream quartet won’t happen anymore after Patrizia Lucia Bosco decided to go the Mutya ng Pilipinas route instead.
Also, the possibility of Alexa Kirby taking part in Miss World Philippines 2014 is still up in the air and will only be known by July 12 if she successfully clinches the Miss Philippines Quest USA 2014 title in the New York finals. At any rate, Dominique Ivory would also be a worthy bet of the Fil-Am community.
For now, let’s be glad that Valerie Weigmann and Lorraine Kendrickson are already confirmed for enlisting.
The ladies who took part in the Metro Manila screenings of Mutya ng Pilipinas 2014
While the Metro Manila screening was not exactly the crowd-drawer the organizers had expected it to be, there were more than a few faces who stood out that will still make Mutya ng Pilipinas 2014 a relatively competitive beauty contest, in addition to the seeded candidates coming from the provinces. And for this year, the sole titleholder will be known as such and will represent the country in the Kuala Lumpur-hosted Miss Tourism International 2014. And this only means that Miss Tourism International 2013 Angeli Dione Gomez will have the spotlight to herself come finals night on August 8. On the other hand, I cannot confirm yet if Koreen Medina will do her farewell walk without a winner to transfer her title to.
Be that as it may, I can already specify Glennifer Perido (former Binibini and Miss Philippines Air 2012), Fil-Italian Patrizia Lucia Bosco, Cristine Cheeny Racel (former Miss Bikini Philippines runner-up), former Star Magic talent Mary Eileen Gonzales, Steffi Gerona (niece of Mutya 1985 3rd Runner-Up Regina Gerona) and Nickah dela Cruz (Miss Meycauayan City during Miss Philippines Earth 2009) as the Metro Manila screenees who will definitely add some luster to the decades-old national pageant.
The familiar faces during the Metro Manila screening of Mutya ng Pilipinas 2014
Let’s see who else will join them once all the Official Candidates of Mutya ng Pilipinas 2014 will be presented. 😉

And so it has come to pass.
Patrizia Lucia Bosco registered and screened for Mutya ng Pilipinas 2014 instead of Miss World Philippines 2014. And John de la Vega came with his whole team to show full support to the House of JDV’s stand-out entry to the beauty contest.
Cory Quirino’s loss is Renee Saud’s gain. And if all original plans are to be followed, the 5’9″ Patrizia will be representing the Filipino Community of Italy in the national finals. And chances are that this Fil-Italian looker can go for the big titles more than just the Overseas Communities sash exclusive for imported delegates.
Let’s see if John will have a major winner in Mutya ng Pilipinas 2014. 🙂
Come va, Patrizia Lucia Bosco?
While House of JDV’s John de la Vega may be busy with his Miss Grand Philippines 2014, he hasn’t forgotten about Miss World Philippines 2014. And the buzz is getting loud. He may have his secret weapon in a Filipina-Italian fashion model who stands 5’9″.
Her name is Patrizia Lucia Bosco. And with the initial images that were released online, this lady is a keeper. She has a beautiful face that mixes the best of her dual roots.
If all things fall into place, we could be looking at a solid three-way race among the three beauty camps with Valerie Weigmann for Aces & Queens, Lorraine Kendrickson for Kagandahang Flores and Patrizia for House of JDV. Excited much, dear readers? I know I am. 😀
The confirmation from JDV himself.
Patrizia Lucia Bosco. Bella!
