The search is on for Miss Philippines Earth 2021!
After successfully mounting its 20th anniversary virtual pageant last year, Miss Philippines-Earth once again opens its doors to aspiring beauty queens and environmental advocates to take part in a life-changing experience.
The nationwide search for the next wave of Beauties for a Cause is now open to:
– Filipinas, 18 to 28 years old
– At least a high school graduate and of good moral standing
– outstanding looks and personality
– at least 5’4” in height, with above-average communication skills, and knowledge on and concern for the environment.
For its 21st edition, Miss Philippines-Earth takes on the theme “Colors of the Earth” to reflect the vast and unique biodiversity of the country. The theme also alludes to the brighter outlook on 2021 coming from a rather bleak 2020 due to the pandemic. The grand coronation of Miss Philippines-Earth 2021 is set on July, and will take on a virtual format. With the continuous rise of Covid-19 cases in the country, Carousel thought it best to forego the live staging of the pageant for the second time. The safety of the delegates, the production staff, and the public is still paramount for the organization, and will not, in any way, put anyone involved with the event at risk.
But even without the live coronation event, Miss Philippines-Earth followers can still look forward to an exciting virtual production showcasing the country’s breathtaking tourism destinations and, of course, the beauty of the Filipina Earth ambassador.

Miss Philippines Earth 2020 Roxie Baeyens who is celebrating her birthday today

The judges for the Finals include former Miss Earth titleholders Alexandra Braun (2005) and Nicole Faria (2010), GMA Network VP for Program Management Joey Abacan, the #Greenman himself Matthias Gelber, Hana Shampoo Marketing Manager Carlos Bacani and former Miss RP Suzanne Gonzalez Gommer who represented the country in Miss World 1975.
Starting today and each day till the end of the month, I will present three (3) Eco Angels of Miss Philippines Earth 2020 to familiarize you with their stats, environmental advocacy, interesting infos and why they want to be the next spokesperson for Mother Earth. 
Based on the criteria in selecting the winner of Miss Philippines Earth 2020, Beauty of Face, Beauty of Intelligence and Beauty of Form/Fitness/Poise account for 95% of the total score. The remaining 5% is earmarked for behavior/personality. Of late, the most familiar names and faces usually end up getting crowned as the country’s representative to Miss Earth. Examples are the reigning titleholder Janelle Tee and the other recent queens like Celeste Cortesi and Karen Ibasco. You can even include Imelda Schweighart who resigned before her reign was completed. 
Thirty-three (33) Eco Angels are on the hunt for Miss Philippines Earth 2020. They now comprise the first-ever Official Candidates for the national pageant’s virtual edition that signals the beginning of a fresh chapter in Philippine pageantry this side of the new normal.
First on the list is Sherry Anne Tormes who was part of Bb. Pilipinas twice in the past. Originally, though, she was part of a previous edition of MPE. This is like her return to the competition that could bring her the crowning glory she has been aiming for.
And then we have Patrixia Sherly Santos whose pageant career brought instant recall to the “x” in her first name. She was also a Binibini in the past, aside from taking part in Miss World Philippines, Ambassadress of the World Philippines and the Redvocates Search for AIDS Ambassadors in the country.
Gianna Margarita Llanes was an Official Candidate of Miss World Philippines two years back. Her national pageantry experience brought the confidence in joining other smaller tilts where she was able to shine more strongly. In particular, she made it as 1st Runner-Up during Miss Mandaluyong 2019. 
Roxie Baeyens may be the youngest among the six, but she is the one who has already represented the country in an international beauty competition. She emerged 1st Runner-Up during Miss Tourism and Culture Universe 2019 after being named Face of Tourism 2019. She is from Baguio City.
Justiene Ortega is one lady who was able to juggle time between her pageant conquests and gainful employment. It does help when the field of work is in sales and marketing. She was a contender in past stagings of both Miss World Philippines and Miss Tourism Philippines.
Finally, we have Hannah Bithiah Merino – a proud Lagunense who worked as Flight Attendant of Philippine Airlines. This tall lady was crowned Mutya ng Pilipinas Calabarzon before qualifying as one of the fifty lovelies who made the Golden Edition of Mutya ng Pilipinas more colorful.
