There is a new Egypt-based beauty competition that started just earlier this year – Miss Eco Queen International Pageant. The inaugural winner is Patricia Peklar of Slovenia who participated in Miss Earth 2014.
For the sophomore edition of the economics-and-environment-themed contest, the Philippines has been invited to send a candidate. Hence, the birth of Miss Eco Philippines.
Screening dates will be announced in its Facebook page soon. So if you are interested to join, visit this page and send a message. Your inquiries will be promptly answered. Who knows, its National Director (the media personality who is more popularly known as Atorni Ton) might even be the one to directly correspond with you.
And yes, some of you will definitely comment that this is a Miss Earth copycat of a pageant. But don’t you think it’s better to have more of the cause-oriented beauty events like this? At least, the organization is also keeping their winner busy in environment-related activities. And the fact that some of the previous Miss Earth candidates (such as Nadine Roberts of Australia, Zoe McCracken of Fiji, Talisa Wolters of Netherlands and Prinsha Shrestha of Nepal) took part in the first-ever finals must say something about the trust given to the organizers. 😉
