Behold your #Binibini12 Vianca Louise Marcelo in her Bb. Pilipinas National Costume created by Paolo Blanco:

A mystical sarimanok inspired costume that is depicted as a fowl with colorful wings and tail. Holding a fish on its beak that symbolizes good fortune for everyone who sees it.

The magnificent yellow modern Filipiniana gown that represents the color of hope and joy amidst the crisis that the world is facing now.

Embelished with jeweled sarimanok patches on the bodice of the gown adorned from the famous and unique embroidery technique in Bocaue, Bulacan called Kadineta. An art that has been passed on through generations, a world class craftmanship.

The creation also represent the vast unique cultural collaboration of artistry from Luzon (Kadineta embroidery and Filipiniana terno) to Mindanao (Sarimanok headpiece) .

A masterpiece that is regarded as the beacon of yearning through this trying times.

Yesterday, the 39th Flores de Mayo presented by SM Mall of Asia and Congregacion del Santisimo Nombre del Niño Jesus yielded four grand winners with their respective designers and escorts, as follows:

Reina de las Flores – Sammie Anne Legaspi escorted by Prince Noor Masud in Ole’ Morabe;


La Flor de Manila – Sirene Sutton escorted by Ricardo De Jesus in Paulo Blanco;


La Flor de Pasay – Kitkat Yu Ekey escorted by Jhudiel Gilbert Amier in Pepe Quitco

The Miss Globe 2017 Do Tran Khanh Ngan of Vietnam

Miss Vietnam and Miss Philippines – last two women standing for The Miss Globe 2017

Asian power was at its finest in Tirana, Albania when Miss Vietnam Do Tran Khanh Ngan won The Miss Globe 2017 with Miss Philippines Nelda Ibe getting 1st Runner-Up.

Miss Siberia Elena Latypova is 2nd Runner-Up. Miss Albania Alessia Çoku is 3rd Runner-Up. Miss Capo Verde Simone Heijligers is 4th Runner-Up.

While the transmission was not at its best, kudos to the organizers for staging the pageant creditably well.

Kudos as well to Bb. Pilipinas Globe 2017 Nelda Ibe for bagging 1st Runner-Up honors, plus National Costume Maker Frederick Berches and Evening Gown Designer Paolo Blanco for making her look more radiant onstage during the Finals. Jojo Bragais provided the heels all throughout the competition.

During last night’s Long Gown Competition of Miss Scuba Philippines 2017 held at the Citystate Tower Hotel Manila, the 15 Official Candidates walked the runway to impress the judges wearing creations from different designers from Adam Balasa to Manny Halasan to Maestro John to Paolo Blanco. The segment is an important component of the entire competition that will fill up 1/4 of the total performance score that will be added up to the crucial closed door interviews this coming Sunday at the Belmont Hotel Manila.

Announced as the 3 finalists are Danica Acuña, Fel Banaybanay and Sherlyn Doloriel. Winner will be known on Finals Night come October 10 at the Plaza of Resorts World Manila.

This one will happen on May 13 at the Music Hall of SM MOA

This coming May 13 at the Music Hall of the SM Mall of Asia, another edition of the yearly Flores de Mayo will unfold with thirty (30) designers participating with their respective muses and escorts. This is the 38th Flores de Mayo 2017 “Fatima” which will showcase the works of the following individuals (in order of their parade appearances):

Dave Ocampo, Obet Orajay, Nickky Martinez, Johnny Abad, Erich Miñoza, Vince Sityar, Russ Cuevas, Paolo Blanco, Leslie Rivera, Rey Lazaro, Gil Granado, Roy Aquino, Marlo Javier, Jontie Martinez, Joms de Castro, Adam Balasa, Piter Otordos, Louis Pangilinan, Rowell Panlilio, Pencil Diestra, Sonyboy Mindo, Christopher Quejano, Pepe Quitco, Marjorie Lee Gumabay, Ole Morabe, Edwin Uy, Yeye Pantaleon, Chico Estiva, Rholand Roxas and Renee Salud.
