Bb. Pilipinas 2017 1st Runner-Up Charmaine Elima
With last year’s 1st Runner-Up Angelica Alita
There was a time earlier this week when Charmaine Elima was flooded with so many calls and queries on, among other many concerns, exercising her placement option as Bb. Pilipinas 2017 1st Runner-Up. She must have been saddled with an assortment of concerns to think about that picking up the phone or responding to a message on Messenger never crossed her mind. After all, when Katarina Rodriguez was still in the middle of indecisiveness on whether to formally accept the Bb. Pilipinas Intercontinental title (thank God that was finally resolved
), she was automatically next in line to ascend.
But there is a good reason why Maine was given the 1st Runner-Up position. It would allow her to train and stay in the company of the titleholders without necessarily being prevented to rejoin in 2018 if she so decides to resign in the process. And knowing how much the BPCI Officials have grown fond of this beauty, there is strong hope to cling on.
Of course, it ain’t easy planning another comeback. Aside from the time she needs to dedicate, the prospects of resuming her job at Philippine Airlines full-time can be affected as she may not be able to concentrate for at least one full year. Income-wise, that can be disruptive.
Charmaine in her Pablo Mendez III gown. Will she consider a 3rd try?
But let’s wait and see how your Bb. Pilipinas 2017 1st Runner-Up will plot her next game plan. I’m sure that she will get sound advice from trusted allies and supporters. 🙂

Choosing the best among this year’s National Costumes for Bb. Pilipinas 2017
Prior to judging, there was a video shoot at the Gateway Tower Penthouse
Last night, the forty (40) Binibinis privately paraded to a panel of judges (headed by Madame SMA) wearing their awe-inspiring National Costumes to select the best among this year’s offerings from some of the country’s best designers. The winner will be announced on April 30.
And earlier yesterday as well, the Binibinis were shot on video wearing the traditional garbs at the Penthouse of Gateway Tower. The clips will be shown on Coronation Night as well. Thankfully, the respective designers were interviewed on-cam by ABS-CBN Lifestyle so that they can proudly talk about their masterpieces.
Here are some of the individual photos during the judging.
