My dear Cary Santiago gives us an idea on the National Costume and Evening Gown that Miss Universe Philippines Gazini Christiana Jordi Ganados will wear for the Miss Universe 2019 Preliminaries:

“This is for all the pageant fans out there especially to the supporters of our Miss Universe Philippines Gazini Jordi Ganados:

I created a national costume that is somehow worthy for an international event. I took my inspiration from our national bird. The design is not as flamboyant but the details are very intricate. Its hand-stitched all coming from the same fabric with my signature laser cut patterns.

For the evening gowns, i made several for her but we are down to two that will be used both for prelims and for pageant night. It is fabric manipulation sans the glitter. The silhouette showcases her figure which makes it even more beautiful.

From the Origin models of Sven, Gazini has been my model since 2014 and she is the nicest. Gazini has been by model since 2014 and she is the nicest. I cant also say No to her mentor Jonas Borces. All these are labor of love. Its sad to note that in our country, we don’t really have the support of the government or any agency that will help us fund and produce beautiful pieces for our Philippine representative/s. But i assure everyone that i did try my best in designing and creating masterpieces for Gazini.

Cheers to all pageant fans out there! You are the reason why the Philippines continues to blaze the trail in an industry thats celebrates beauty both inside and out. ❤️👑”

Every night before she sleeps, Miss Universe Philippines Gazini Christiana Jordi Ganados thinks of pleasant thoughts (just like in the video clip below when she was with Baby Stellan of MUO’s Shawn McClain) to set her up for a positivity-filled early morning once she wakes up and faces another day of Miss Universe competition in Atlanta, Georgia.

Gazini Jordi Ganados took a relatively bumpy ride in the national pageant scene when she first joined Miss World Philippines years back. After that experience, she went back to the Queen City of the South where she focused on modeling and local endorsements with her agency – Origin Model Management. Thereafter, she was convinced once more to take part in a lesser-known competition (Miss Pearl of the Philippines) where pageant followers were surprised at the results when she was not even part of the winners’ circle.

Valuable lessons learned. Precious experiences earned. Her last stint with Miss Bohol 2017 proved to be a far better engagement when she placed 1st Runner-Up.

For 2018, Gazini is older, wiser and more adjusted to the inner workings of beauty competitions. Will she head back to Manila to give the nationals a determined attempt? I don’t see why not. There could be a spot for her in Bb. Pilipinas 2018 if she plays her cards right this time around.

Will Gazini be one of Cebu’s best bets for Bb. Pilipinas 2017?


Gazini Christiana Jordi Ganados from the Queen City of the South is one beauty who has already paid her minimum pageant dues to move ahead with a Bb. Pilipinas participation. After getting her baptism of fire with Miss World Philippines 2014, she reappeared last year as an Official Candidate of the lesser known Miss Pearl of the Philippines (a move which was frowned about by some industry observers as it did not catch fire for her overall value as a national crown aspirant).

Gazing returned to Cebu and resumed her modeling stints with Origin Model Management. She regained her bearings on home ground and the talks right now are that she is setting her sights on the 2017 edition of our favorite national beauty competition. And I really hope she prepared well because this is the game plan she should have followed right from the start. Her arresting looks are more-than-eye-candy quality. She has the glow that displays versatility in photographs and an aura that can be globally appreciated.

Between now and February 24, It will be just a wait for us to see if Gazini finally gathers all her strength and confidence on a new journey in her pageant life. I am looking forward to seeing more of her at the Araneta Coliseum.

Origin Woman is starting to get more hype nowadays. Sven Chua, Jonas Borces and the team in Cebu are crackling like the famous Chicharon in Carcar. And they have excellent reasons to brag about. No, make them beautiful ones if you will. There is Miss Earth 2014 Jamie Herrell to begin with. She is like the muse. And then there are the ladies who were blogged here before as joining Bb. Pilipinas 2016 – Hazel Ortiz, Maria Gigante, Cynthia Thomalla and Gazini Ganados. Add to the mix the likes of Kim Covert, Dianne Santillan, Monica Tawide, Steffi Aberasturi, Kristine Beltran, Jessa Cariaga, Chloe Harris and Daina Nelson. Even Miss Cebu 2016 Raine Baljak is in the fold. Collectively, they are more than just tall and beautiful ladies under the Origin Woman tag.

This is Origin Model Management of Cebu – “Gracing covers, walking runways, transcending standards. That is an Origin model.”

Is this the breakaway group many people in local pageant circles are talking about? Well, you can call them whatever you want. I will only use the word “Origin” from now on. No intrigues. No hushed whispers. No secrets.

Gabriele Raine Abellana Baljak is a 19 year-old with the interesting quadruple mix of Filipino, Croatian, Spanish and Chinese origins in her blood. And just to add a little more spice to her pedigree, she is a beauty queen’s daughter, with her mother being Miss Cebu Tourism 1984 Mercedes Abellana-Brenner. Oh, and by the way, she is your Miss Cebu 2016.

Raine may have been born in Australia, but was raised in a farm in Maslog (Danao City) and later moved to Cebu where she now resides.

Here’s an excerpt from the article published by Cebu Daily News about her recent win:

When she was crowned as Miss Cebu 2016 on Wednesday, she recalled searching for her mother in the audience first. Seeing her mother overjoyed was the highest moment of the night for her, Baljak said.

“Making her proud is one of the main reasons why I joined Miss Cebu. I love seeing my mother happy, especially with everything she has sacrificed for me and my brother,” Baljak added.

I have always had faith in Gazini Christiana Ganados as having the right makings of a beauty queen. Back in 2014 when she took the first step of going for the nationals by participating in Miss World Philippines, I was confident that this Cebuana will be noticed and recognized for her knockout beauty and allure. But with only one (1) title to vie for then, it was considered an uphill battle with entries from other camps seeking equal attention, let alone the strong competition coming from her own sisters at Kagandahang Flores. I surmise that she went back to the drawing boards to plot her next attack in the big league. And with Bb. Pilipinas 2016 already opening its doors to the next batch of potential successors to the successful winners of 2015, I think this is the right time to make her move.

Gazini is a better fit for Bb. Pilipinas. She’s got all the right ingredients to see her through the tough challenge – looks, height, communication skills and the right bearing to leave a more indelible mark this time around.

So will we see her screening in the upcoming weeks? My sources are saying yes. And I couldn’t agree more. 😉

Tim Alsowyed for Miss Global Beauty Queen 2015

   image Slimmers World Miss Bikini Philippines 2015 Tim Alsowyed is Korea-bound next month to represent the Philippines in Miss Global Beauty Queen 2025 which will take place in Seoul from October 5-19.

The 24 year-old beauty who is a Literature major at Silliman University is being prepared for the pageant by KF Cebu and Origin Model Management. She was a former runner-up during Miss Casino Filipino 2014 where the winner was Rogelie Catacutan who is now Bb. Pilipinas Supranational 2015.

The contest in Seoul should not be confused with the controversy-marred World Beauty Queen 2015 as this is being handled by a different organization altogether.

Let us all wish Tim good luck for Miss Global Beauty Queen 2015! 🙂
