Iceland made it to the Top 10 during Miss Universe 2019. But did you know that the highest placement of this country happened way way back in 1962 when Anna Geirsdóttir placed 1st Runner-Up to Norma Nolan of Argentina?
For the 69th Edition, the Nordic island country is pinning its hopes on 22 year-old Elísabet Hulda Snorradóttir – a certified travel bug – to record a possible win in our favorite pageant.
Fun fact: Elisabet speaks 5 languages – Icelandic, English, Japanese, Mandarin and Korean. She is majoring in Chinese Studies at the University of Iceland.
Miss Universe Argentina 2011 Natalia Rodriguez
From the land of Pampas, Natalia Rodriguez blooms as Miss Universe Argentina 2011 and her country’s bet to win a 2nd Miss Universe crown in Sao Paulo, Brazil. She was freshly crowned last July 4 at the Palacio Alsina in Buenos Aires.
Natalia – aged 24 and who stands 1.74m – defeated 20 other delegates for the national competition, including 1st Runner-Up Denisee Seewald and 2nd Runner-Up Carolina Yanuzzi. She is a fashion model whose looks are a mix of several beautiful Latinas we have encountered in previous beauty pageants. Will she do a Norma Nolan and become the answer to Argentina’s wish for another major victory in Miss U? Or will she just end up clapping with the other losers as the winners and placers step up to centerstage? I say that she will give it a good fight. 😉
