Reigning winner Tessa Le Conge of the Netherlands
Starting November 10, the beautiful delegates who are set to vie for Miss Asia-Pacific International 2017 will start arriving in our shores to join Mutya ng Pilipinas Asia-Pacific International 2017 Ilene de Vera with hopes of succeeding the reigning titleholder Tessa Le Conge of the Netherlands.
Over fifty (50) candidates will spend close to three (3) weeks for pre-pageant activities (in both Manila and Palawan) leading to the finals scheduled at the Newport Performing Arts Theatre of Resorts World Manila on November 29.
Here’s the official PR release from the organizers:
After a decade of hiatus, the mother of all beauty pageants in Southeast Asia is back. Last year, the official re-launching of the pageant took place in Puerto Princesa, Palawan, specifically at the renowned Sheridan Beach Resort and Spa. 22-year old stunner, Tessa Helena Le Conge from the Netherlands is the current titleholder. She bested the other international contenders with her overwhelming charm, wit and positivity. “I think nowadays it’s sad to see so much negativity in the world, because you see people don’t really respect each other. I would like to show people what you can do with a good light in your heart,” she quipped with her dazzling smile. She was joined by Chawanya Thanomwong of Thailand (1st runner up), RP’s Ganiel Akrisha Krishnan (2nd runner-up), Felicia George of Cook Islands (3rd runner up), Soyeon Kim of South Korea (4th runner-up).

Tonight, the Season 1 finale of Pinay Beauty Queen Academy – to be hosted by Ali Forbes and Lance Raymundo – will go live at the Newport Performing Arts Theatre of Resorts World Manila where the final challenge will be revealed and one top winner selected from the remaining contenders.
There is no confirmation yet on whether the #1 placer will be automatically fielded in one of the national beauty contests for 2015, but suffice it to say that whoever she is will have the right amount of confidence and transformation to enlist in the likes of MPE or Mutya.
By the way, the TV telecast of the finals will air tomorrow night at 9:45PM on GMA News TV. 😉
This one will be hosted by Manila, Philippines in May 27, 2015
Newport Performing Arts Theatre at Resorts World Manila – venue of Mister United Continent 2015
There is a new international male competition to be hosted by Manila, Philippines next year. And by initial word from the organizers, it will have Humanity Service as the main thrust.
Mister United Continent 2015 (see Press Release below) will be held at the Newport Performing Arts Theatre of Resorts World Manila on May 27, 2015. For countries which will be fielding their reps, “One of the requirements for each candidate is to send a 2 to 5 minute video of themselves with their advocacy campaign promoting and doing help with his less fortunate brothers and sisters in their country. For example, if his advocacy is feeding program for the less fortunate children, it should be filmed and he will explain on what he did to organize such advocacy campaign. The best candidate with a good advocacy campaign and a very natural video will be judged as “BEST IN HUMANITY SERVICE” award and will be fast tracked to the semifinals.”
I will closely follow this one and see if it will hold true to the promise of a unique and exciting event. 😉

Renee Soraya Hassani is part of R-L Angels
Renee Soraya Hassani is the reigning Ms. Quezon City Environmental Protection 2014. And she will also represent the country in the Mr. & Miss Diversity Culture International 2014 scheduled to happen in Bohol and Manila from November 26-December 5, with the finals set at the Newport Performing Arts Theatre of Resorts World Manila.
This R-L Angel is the youngest trainee of the beauty camp that has so far produced Official Candidates for Bb. Pilipinas 2014 (Aiza Faeldonia & Angelique de Leon), Bb. Watch the 30-second video below to get an idea of what the competition is all about. Diversity Culture International is a New Zealand-based umbrella organization where the focus is on fashion models and shows but with a twist. They do not set limits on size, shape and height.

Hazel Joy Ortiz conquered the competition and won the title of Slimmers World Miss Bikini Philippines 2014 last night at the Newport Performing Arts Theatre of Resorts World Manila. She was able to edge out the other ladies who were considered favorites, just like 1st Runner-up Jessica Arqueza and 2nd Runner-up Roshiel Asingua.
Hazel will be scheduled to represent us in Miss Bikini International, while Jessica could be our entry in the Miss Tourism Queen Asia in China.
Congratulations to all the winners! 🙂
P.S. Now that Janicel Lubina is free from her commitments here, she can plan her next pageant stop.
Don't miss this fun showstopper of a musical!

You simply can’t afford to let this slip by without catching at least one show.
“Priscilla, Queen of the Desert” the Musical started its local run last May 9 at the Newport Performing Arts Theatre of Resorts World Manila. And the way the audience during opening night reacted to the whole thing, it should be a hit. Not only does it have all your favorite disco songs from the 70s-90s, you will also enjoy the individual transformations of leads Leo Tavarro Valdez, Jon Santos and Red Concepcion into the most fabulous drag queens this side of the Philippines. Bituin Escalante, Michael Williams, Menchu Lauchengco-Yulo, Thou Reyes and Pinky Marquez add up to an equally game list of supporting cast members

The musical runs till early July, so you have more than enough time to plan which weekend to watch the same. 😉

Randy See Cailles and Rolini Lim Pineda topped Mr. & Ms. Chinatown Philippines 2013 last night at the Newport Performing Arts Theatre of Resorts World Manila. The two Fil-Chinese standouts edged 30 other aspirants for the crown in a well-staged pageant production that deserves kudos for its head organizer, Alexis Go.
The runners-up include Jerome Edward Tan and Sheng Han Skye Yang on the male side, with Maricon Cho and Michelle Marie Sy trailing close among the females. The six (6) others who made it to the Top 12 are Sydney Du, Samantha Jade Dy, Jose Miguel Lasala, Sheryl Elaine Chua, Jaime Lim Ripoll and Catherine Yao.
Congratulations to all the winners! 🙂
Ariane Gargonio (L) and Cedrick Evan Vergonia won Bodyshots X 2013 (Photo credit: Bruce Casanova for OPMB Worldwide)
Will Ariane and Cedrick zoom to popularity after winning Bodyshots X 2013?
One of my Top 2 picks among the female contenders – Ariane Gargonio – was named winner of Bodyshots X 2013 together with her male counterpart Cedrick Evan Vergonia at the Newport Performing Arts Theatre of Resorts World Manila last night. Will the duo be able to rise above the tough world of modeling and claim their share of fame in the years to come? It all remains to be seen.
Ariane is showing promise to take part in Binibining Pilipinas a year or two from now, though.
Congratulations are in order for the meantime. 🙂
Miss Resorts World Manila 2011 will have its final screening of candidates on August 6, 2011 where 30 ladies will be short-listed to become this year’s official contenders for the coronation night scheduled on August 27 at the Newport Performing Arts Theatre inside the complex.
If you want your favorite to make it to the Top 30, just click HERE or on the “Choose Your Finalist” image above to go straight to the beauty contest’s FB app where you can cast your vote until August 5, 2011.
There are some familiar faces in there – ladies who previously joined Bb. Pilipinas (Ladylyn Riva & Gizelle Rivamonte), Miss Philippines Earth (Margo Midwinter & Goldy Baroa), Mutya ng Pilipinas (Jo Ann Peria & Lorraine Erum) and Ms. Eco-Tourism Philippines (Sabrina Watts). There’s also a former Miss Bikini Philippines (Princess Abella) who already represented the country in Miss Bikini International 2010.
Let’s see which girls will make it to the 2011 roster and get the chance to win the crown currently being held by last year’s winner, Wendy Tabulsalla. The eventual winner will take home more than PhP1 million worth of prizes plus a multi-page spread on Mega Magazine.
