Illuminate: The Lumina Launch

Illuminate is a big fashion event that launched Lumina Events Management

Last night, the grand launch of Lumina Events Management took place at One Esplanade in a big fashion show that gathered the collections of designers Albert Andrada, Bessie Besana, Rocky Gathercole, Herbert Custodio and Jaggy Clarinio plus shoe masters Jojo Bragais and Nere Ku plus the fab accessories of Ablaze (by Jun-Jun Ablaza) and Christopher E Munar. Top fashion models, beauty queens and upcoming celebrities graced the runway as they added more glitz to the occasion.

Miss Earth 2015 Angelia Ong, Miss World Philippines 2015 Hillarie Parungao, Mutya ng Pilipinas Leren Mae Bautista and a host of Bb. Pilipinas titleholders including Christi McGarry, Bianca Guidotti, Kris Tiffany Janson plus Miss Globe 2015 Ann Colis are some of the notable personalities. The most pleasant surprise was Bb. Pilipinas Universe 1982 Maria Isabel Lopez who modeled the green Albert Andrada number she recently wore during the Cannes Film Festival 2016. She was clearly in her best elements onstage.

The real star of the whole spectacle, though, was Lumina Events Management whose objective is to become the game changers in handling a wide variety of big events such as beauty pageants, corporate launches, concerts, trade fairs and more.

Watch out for Lumina Events Management as they start changing the face of big events handling in the country. At the rate they handled the launch, I am very optimistic with this very talented group!

The Femme line of footwear of shoe designer Nere Ku is catching a lot of attention of late. Not only are his creations inventive and conversation-worthy, the pieces evoke a certain sense of out-of-the-box pride in being seen wearing them. They may be a far cry from the traditional heels that scream classic and daily-wearable, but that’s exactly the point. These are not the type to flaunt around just to disappear in a crowd, but to stand out instead.

Bb. Pilipinas Intercontinental 2014 Kris Tiffany Janson is keeping herself busy with modeling stints, pageant judging and personal appearances nowadays.

I was actually with her for an event more than a week back and she told me about her upcoming trip (around late August) to El Gouna, Red Sea in Egypt to attend the finals of Top Model of the World 2015 as a Special Guest of the organizers. Since the model competition is affiliated with the Miss Intercontinental group where she placed 2nd Runner-Up during the latest edition in Germany, the opportunity is something that could open more doors for contacts and international exposure – the kind that will easily expand her network.

Good luck, Kris!

Shoe wizard Nere Ku is represented by an assortment of women – actresses, models, beauty queens, TV personalities, socialites and those who simply love wearing his dazzling creations.

In this post, you can see six of them in editorial shoots that leave the reader in awe of Nere’s finished pieces. Bb. Pilipinas Tourism 2014 Parul Shah looks like the beautiful apparition of a fallen angel in the photo above. Dressed in a white fantasy creation by Designer Rocky Gathercole and wearing a pair of red boot-like heels custom-made by Nere Ku, she embodies an out-of-the-box character who can very well be the representation of her under-utilized strengths as a Bb. Pilipinas titleholder – crowned but not fielded in competition.

Her breathless beauty notwithstanding, Parul has learned to take things as they come and go. While she could have been sent to any of those several permutations of Tourism-themed pageants abroad, BPCI is not about to compromise her image as a national titleholder by taking part in pageants that do not meet their strict standards.

Maybe it was meant to be. Or maybe something could have been done. Regardless, the reign is over. And life goes on.

The star of the night, Nere Ku

nereku In what could be described as one of the big city’s most eagerly-awaited fashion events of the year, Nereku Manila unveiled a runway show at the Fashion Hall of SM Megamall last night that featured the shoe designer’s divine footwear collection infused with the creations of some of our popular local and international designers. If that’s not enough, an exhibit was simultaneously inaugurated – which will be open to the public starting today till tomorrow, June 20 – where his more interesting and talk-worthy pieces are on display for everyone to see, appreciate and rave about.

It was a glittery night alright with the participation of the likes of Miss Universe Philippines 2014 MJ Lastimosa, International model and Mr. World Philippines 2015 Sam Ajdani, Miss Philippines Earth 2013 & Miss Multiverse Philippines 2015 Angelee delos Reyes, Miss Intercontinental Czech Republic 2014 Lenka Josefiova, Mutya ng Pilipinas Eva Patalinjug, Miss Bikini Philippines 2014 Hazel Ortiz, Mr. International Philippines 2013 Gil Wagas Jr, Mr. Global Philippines 2014 Joseph Doruelo, Mister United Continents Philippines 2015 Reynaldo Cataluna III, Miss Bikini Philippines 2015 1st Runner-Up Angelu Gonzales, plus professional runway models Jinlyn Talacod and Aaron de Tomasso. The designer himself was so happy with the successful turnout of guests and supporters, inspite of the heavy traffic and the on-and-off rainshowers that could have delayed the start of the program proper. Happily, everything went on nearly as scheduled under the eagle-eyed supervision of the Director, Shandy Montecarlo Lim.

This is one #Shoesyal show indeed.

Celebrities, beauty queens and popular personalities will be on hand to lend their starry presence to the fashion show that will have the shoe creations of talented Nere Ku as the center of attention.

Aside from the participation of our local and international designers in the event (check out their names on the left collage), the likes of Tessa Prieto-Valdez, Tim Yap, Shamcey Supsup-Lee, MJ Lastimosa, Sam Ajdani, Eula Valdes, Angel Aquino, Parul Shah, Angelee delos Reyes, Eva Patalinjug, Lenka Josefiova, Joseph Doruelo, Gil Wagas, Nicko Cruz, Ricardo de Jesus and more will be around to show their support. Additionally, some of the confirmed names who will watch are famous impersonator Manila Luzon, Mr. Guam 2014 Iowani Untingco and Designer Rocky Gathercole.

Mister United Continents Philippines 2015 Press Presentation

mucp2015avb The twin set of activities for Mister United Continents Philippines 2015 was held yesterday inside Fisher Mall in Quezon City.

The Press Presentation of the Official Candidates was conducted first, followed by the Regional/Festival Costume Competition which had all the contenders garbed in their home provinces’ most creative traditional wear. The Top 5 Finalists for this part were announced, and they are the entries of Laguna (Victorio Bote), Midsayap (Kevin Dale Jovellano), Tacloban (Edviro Fuentes Jr.), Sultan Kudarat (Nikko Abdul) and Marinduque (Arcel Pacaigue).

The Darling of the Press was the first award to be handed out. Mr. Navotas City Mark Andrew Baron was named for this recognition.
