Our Bb. Pilipinas 2015 Queens explored the National Museum in style
Chanelling their inner art divas now
When our Bb. Pilipinas 2015 Queens went on a scheduled VIP visit to the National Museum, they had the place all to themselves. And so, my photographer-friend Bruce Casanova took the opportunity to shoot the ladies with the very inspiring interiors as background. And what beautiful images these are!
This activity is not a simple touristic trip to the all-important art archive of the country. It will also refresh the memories of our ladies on the cultural and historical points that will help them appreciate the various pieces they enthusiastically viewed and, hopefully, add to their knowledge of their roots. While the shots may give the notion that they simply went through the motions of walking around the pillar-structured area, each one of them really appreciated the guided tour and soaked in all the new infos shared all throughout.
I’m pretty sure they learned a lot from the said visit, and wouldn’t mind returning just to get the additional inspiration. 😉

Yesterday afternoon, the Official Candidates of Misters of the Philippines 2014 got more than a mere visit to the National Museum. They were given the grand tour of the place and were actually oriented on the art and cultural history of the country. The various important pieces should have given them a good taste of the evolution of our heritage. And that would especially help the eventual winners to imbibe a clearer sense of how to promote their motherland, as well as jack up their level of national pride.

It doesn’t require a lot to take in bits and pieces of the country’s art and cultural history. A simple visit to the museum can start the ball rolling and once interest is spurred, it can develop into a relatively more in-depth liking to the same.
Take for example Valerie Weigmann who decided to drop by the National Museum to see with her own eyes the several murals created by National Artist Vicente Manansala.
Val with the “Lualhati” sculpture by Guillermo E. Tolentino
The photos here may appear like she just posed in the middle of the gallery. But before and after the shot was taken, she was actually taking in the fine details of each work up close. And then on the left image above, she was also able to view Juan Luna’s The Spoliarium. On the right, she gleefully posed with Guillermo E. Tolentino’s ‘Lualhati’ sculpture.
So how many among us have really been able to visit the same? The experience is so different from just looking at online photos that come up after searching on Google. Try setting foot at the National Museum one of these days. 🙂
