Host Steve Harvey and whoever was in-charge of putting the photo of Gazini Ganados on the LED wall were right all along.
Miss Universe Philippines won the National Costume Competition of Miss Universe 2019, and not Miss Malaysia (I wonder who asked poot Shweta Sekhon to dress up and go onstage for that part).

Miss Earth Tanzania, Evelyne Almasi, is the recipient of the first special award of Miss Earth 2009. She was handed the Best National Costume prize and bested a multitude of other equally outstanding attires representing the different countries in the pageant. As you can see in the photo below, her tree-inspired outfit is truly descriptive of the environmental cause of Miss Earth.
ME Tanzania Evelyne Almasi in her tree-inspired national costume voted as best in the competition.
There were also sponsor prizes given. Miss Earth Puerto Rico, Dignelis Jimenez, was named ‘Face of New Placenta’, while Miss Earth Guam, Maria Luisa Santos, was adjudged Miss Pasig-Gandahan. Miss Earth Philippines, Sandra Seifert, was given the Nesvita Special Award during the Press Presentation.
