Now at 22-going-23, Patrizia is being reported as very close to screening – and hopefully – becoming part of Bb. Pilipinas 2017. And when she does, all eyes could be on her. Has she been transformed more dramatically this time around? I reckon she has been.

Alexandra Faith Garcia is an accomplished triathlete who is now preparing for her biggest challenge in pageantry
This year, Faith has returned to the pageant scene and how. She has successfully passed the screenings and is now a certified Binibini for Bb. Pilipinas 2016. A product of Kagandahang Flores, she now sports a leaner and more shapely figure with toned muscles and a more highly-charged resistance to the boiling pressure of the nationals. And I bet she will give the other contenders a good fight should BPCI start a sporting side event for the pre-pageant activities.
But more than that, what is your take on Faith? I see her as good competitor who can step up her bid for a crown just as much as the next well-prepared challenger. She has the charm and poise to go head-to-head with anyone in that department. And if our focus is transfixed on the early favorites, she just might take the opportunity to zoom on her own merits when everyone’s not looking. After all, patience and discipline could be her best suits. And she can use this to maximize her game plan for Bb. Pilipinas. 😉

Yhesley Cabanos as PBQA Season 2 winner
The girl chosen to represent the Philippines in the said beauty competition is 18 year-old Yhesley Cardano Cabanos who we can remember as the winner of Pinay Beauty Queen Academy Season 2 (where she was trained by Nina Ricci Alagao). She is also a product of Kagandahang Flores, the camp which initially fielded her in Mutya ng Pilipinas 2014 (see her twin photos in the featured image above).
This young lass is determined to show her best qualities and to do the country proud in the said competition. She will leave on November 5 for Shenzhen.

Mutya ng Pilipinas Overseas Communities 2014 Patrizia Bosco is in the country to crown her successor in the ongoing pageant. And in between her busy schedules, she was able to sneak in enough time to fly to Alimodian, Iloilo to have her pictorial with photographer Don Felipe Uygongco. Wearing designs by Jun-G Bayona Candelario, our Filipino-Italian beauty is at her most arresting presence in shots that made her look like a classic Spanish Señorita (photo above where she looks to be garbed in a sexier Maja mantilla outfit) in one turn, then into a ravishing Filipina Mestisa the next. Simply outstanding.
Back to Patrizia now, I’m wondering where she could be lined up for next. The timeline is telling me that screening for Miss World Philippines 2015 could be spot on. With the Mutya ng Pilipinas 2015 coronation night on August 2 and the casting for Valerie Weigmann’s potential successor happening on September 7, the path couldn’t be more crystal clear. While it isn’t fully confirmed yet that she will join, methinks she is very likely to cross over.
Patrizia would made a worthy part of this year’s roster for Miss World Philippines.

Mutya ng Pilipinas 2014 2nd Runner-Up Kim Fyfe has been appointed Philippine rep to Top Model of the World 2015 in Egypt
While I initially anticipated Mutya ng Pilipinas Asia Pacific International 2014 Eva Patalinjug to be our representative to Top Model of the World 2015 (after all, she was given a formal send-off last December but the competition kept on moving in schedule from the original January to April and now September), it appears that the organizers had another girl in mind to send to Egypt.
Mutya ng Pilipinas 2014 2nd Runner-Up Kim Fyfe has now been appointed Top Model of the World-Philippines and will be the one to compete in El Gouna, Red Sea. In fact, her photo now appears in the pageant’s Facebook page as Top Model Philippines.
I don’t want to fan any flames of intrigue anymore. I also like Kim, the Fil-Aussie who reigned as Mutya ng Pilipinas Australia 2014 before taking part in our Mutya nationals. And this girl could also do very well in the contest. I was just hoping that Eva got the chance to go abroad for this, being last year’s #1 placer. Besides, she has been waiting for the longest.
At any rate, I wish our rep the best of luck in Egypt. Bring it on, Kim! 😉

Eva can wait. She's not in a hurry to represent the Philippines abroad
Eva quickly held my hand and told me that everything is alright because she has other bright plans looming in the horizon. And I quipped, “Bb. Pilipinas next year?” She simply gave me a meaningful smile that all but indicated a loud answer on the affirmative.
I definitely reckon that she can wait for Bb. Pilipinas 2016. After all, isn’t it that Top Model of the World is the same modeling pageant where Janicel Lubina was supposed to be fielded in? And look where she is now – Japan-bound for Miss International 2015.
I simply winked and said, “Who knows? You just might be going to Tokyo next year as well!” 😉

Was Ednornance Agustin too exotic? Was Diana Arevalo too mature-looking? Was Aiza Faeldonia the entry of just a small beauty camp? Was Froilene Villanueva too smart? Was Ruffa Nava too thin? Was Margie Alatan in the middle of a too KF-crowded batch? Did Kimverlyn Suiza cross over too soon?
Whatever the real reasons are behind their snub in the nationals will remain a mystery. One thing remains clear for me. These seven (7) beautiful ladies are the most overlooked beauty contestants in our 2014 competitions. Four from Bb. Pilipinas and one each from Miss World Philippines, Miss Philippines Earth, and Mutya ng Pilipinas. They do not deserve clapper status, and should have made the first cut at the very least.

Diana Arevalo, Aiza Faeldonia and Kimverlyn Suiza are the most prominent faces in this ignored group. When their names weren’t called into the Top 15 during the finals of Bb. Pilipinas 2014, I couldn’t help but wonder why. Individually, they have all the qualities to inch their way closer to the crown. I may not have forecasted them as titleholders, but to be part of the semi-finals should have been a given.
And the four others? I feel the same, although not with the same intensity. Ednornance Agustin should have also been noticed during BBP2014. But if she had to be sacrificed in favor of one of the three aforementioned, I would cave in. Ruffa Nava during MWP2014 could have easily replaced one of the surprise candidates who made Top 11. Margie Alatan of Zamboanga City in MPE2014 should have been part of the Top 15. But with so many KF entries, her inclusion might have been deemed going beyond the allocated number. And finally, I have always had a soft spot for Mutya candidate Froilene Villanueva. If only she moved up a little more, the Q&A would have been a little more impressive with her turn if ever.
Looking back, it is fairly likely that the results of the different contests would’ve given slightly different outcomes with the seven named ladies entering the semis. But since it wasn’t meant to be, I just decided to give them a dedicated post to show that their efforts were never left unnoticed by your blogger. 😉

This pretty Mutya ng Olongapo City who made the semifinals during the Mutya ng Pilipinas finals at Solaire is being buzzed about as training for another one of next year’s beauty derbies. And if my sources are to be relied upon, chances are that we might see her trying out for Bb. Pilipinas 2015 if all things happen as planned.
Will she be as successful as her Miss Silka Philippines 2013 stint, and do much better than her placement in Mutya?
In the right hands, I believe she will. 😉

Eva and Glennifer are 100% ready!
First to depart is Glennifer who will compete in Miss Tourism International 2014 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on New Year’s Eve. And by early January, Eva will be leaving for Qingdao, China to represent the country in the Top Model of the World 2015.
I am optimistic about the two beauties, but moreso with Eva whose type of beauty will surely be head-turning in the host Chinese city. Glennifer is aiming for a tough back-to-back-to-back win in KL. Not the easiest assignment, but something that will challenge her to do well even more.

At the moment, options are available for this Tourism major’s picking. She could enter showbiz if Viva Communications would offer her a talent management contract. Otherwise, she could also opt not to be binded by any documents first if taking a shot at Bb. Pilipinas 2015 is something she would seriously consider.
