Mrs ECO International 2019 Shiela DeForest
and
Mrs Universe Philippines 2019 Charo Laude
Watch as they share stories of their individual ascents in pageantry. You will also get to know how to possibly follow their trails as Beauty Queens after becoming a wife and a mother.
Since your blogger will be on a personal 2-day lenten retreat (which started yesterday – Good Friday – till the evening of Black Saturday), this post was scheduled before I started with the solemn one-on-one sessions. The next post will appear on Easter Sunday.
#NextAttraction on the Easter Sunday episode of Pageantry Norms Season 4 this coming April 4 at 4pm:
“Crown and Marriage Conquered”
The usual pageant route is for single ladies to aspire to become Beauty Queens, win a title (or two) and pursue allied dreams until it’s time to settle down and start a family.
But there are those beautiful Filipinas who chose to get married first, excel as wives or mothers, and then join pageants to reach full circle in their life journey.
Episode 6 of #PageantryNorms will give the spotlight to these two (2) married Queens:
Mrs ECO International 2019 Shiela DeForest
Mrs Universe Philippines Charo Laude
Hear their stories, be inspired and realize that age knows no boundaries when it comes to pageantry.

Congratulations to Shiela Teodoro DeForest of the Philippines for winning the title of Mrs Eco International 2019 in Las Vegas! She has added another honor to the country in international pageantry.
Shiela was a Press Officer in Her Majesty’s at the British Embassy of Manila. A former ramp model in Manila and Bodyshots Philippines veteran, she was one of the statuesque models for the North American launch of the Wow Philippines campaign. She later joined Emirates as a Flight Attendant, and subsequently met her husband Tim, who is a pilot for JetBlue.
During the pageant, Shiela wore a blue satin terno embellished with used tetra pack cut-outs as appliques – which won for her the Best Eco Costume award. Her video, which was shot primarily filled in Baguio to underscore the urgency of environmental problems in the northern highlands, won Best Eco Video as well. Among the top four finalists, she outclassed the candidates from Norway, USA, and Costa Rica who finished as runners-up in that order.
Meet your Mrs. Eco Philippines 2019 Shiela Teodoro-DeForest who will represent the country in the upcoming Mrs. Eco International 2019 competition that will be hosted in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA from June 23-28, 2019.
A Meet-and-Greet Press Conference with members of the media was held at the Apartment 1-B Restaurant of The Henry Hotel in Pasay City where Shiela – along with her loving parents – shared more than pageant memories, but also heartwarming stories about her growing up years in the Province of Laguna.
You will remember this towering Pinay beauty (she stands 5’10”) who also participated during last year’s Mrs Globe held in China where she wore the sash of Southeast Asia and made Top 15. This time around, she is filled with more excitement because it will be the entire nation of the Philippines she will represent internationally.
Just yesterday, she went to Benguet Province up north to piece together her environmental advocacy that centers on organic seeds and solid waste management. This will make her video presentation for the competition more meaningful and practical.
As a brief backgrounder, Shiela
finished BS Tourism at the University of the Philippines Diliman before working for the British Embassy Manila as a Press/PR Officer. Afterwards, she got accepted as an International Flight Attendant for Emirates Airlines before eventually meeting her future husband Timothy DeForest, a Pilot for JetBlue. They have been married for several years now, and have happily settled in Golden, Colorado, U.S.A.
From all of us at normannorman.com, we wish you the best of luck in winning the Mrs. Eco International 2019 crown this coming June!
Hi! Norman here. When I'm not working, I spend most of my free time planning on daily blogs. If you will notice, I always make sure that a fresh topic comes out everyday - not an easy thing to do but it's all good. Thanks for dropping by and enjoy the visit!
