Earlier this afternoon, Mr. World 2016 1st Runner-Up Fernando Alvarez of Puerto Rico was honored in a Presscon hosted by Psalmstre Enterprises Inc (PEI) for its brand ambassador of Placenta for Men. With PEI Head Jaime Acosta and Marketing Manager Maryo Copon heading the activity, several members of the media from entertainment and pageant showed up to ask a variety of questions as well as to appreciate the hunky presence of the handsome Puerto Rican who is on his 4th visit in the country.
This time around, Fernando will do more than just appear in print ads and billboards. He will undergo intense lessons to learn how to speak Tagalog with the mid-term objective of getting a big break in one of our teleseryes or perhaps the movies. And given his drive to succeed, I bet we will see more of him in the weeks to come with a gradual knowledge of conversational Tagalog already being put into good use.
By the way, Fernando already enjoys classifying himself as a “Pinoy-Rican” by now. He loves the Philippines so much that he already considers it his 2nd home.
Sandwiched by Mister Universal Ambassador 2016 2nd Runner-Up Andrea Biondo and Mr. World 2016 1st Runner-Up Fernando Alvarez, your blogger is happy being.
P.S. Mister Universal Ambassador 2016 2nd Runner-Up Andrea Biondo (from Gentlemen of the Philippines) also attended the same presscon. He will also become one of the signed brand ambassadors of Placenta for Men soon! 🙂

India won its first Mr World title by placing on top of the competition during the recently-concluded finals in Southport, UK hosted by Miss World 2013 Megan Young. He is an actor back in his home country, and is now tagged as “The World’s Most Desirable Man”.
Edged out for the title is 1st Runner-Up Fernando Alvarez of Puerto Rico who – inspite of missing the big win by just a few points- got some sort of vindication after missing out a Top 5 placement during Mister International 2015 in Manila.
Aldo Esparza Ramirez of Mexico completed the winning troika by snatching 2nd Runner-Up honors.
Our bet, Sam Ajdani, failed to advance to the semifinals. His late arrival in the competition might have costed him precious points in the fast-track segments and the over-all judging of the pre-pageant.
Congratulations to all the winners!

Mr. World Philippines 2015 Sam Ajdani
That is the question in most everyone’s lips – at least the ones who are keenly following the Road to Mr World 2016 of Mr World Philippines 2015 Sam Ajdani who should have already arrived in Southport, UK last Saturday (July 9) as he was originally acheduled to board his Qatar Airways flight the afternoon of July 8.
The other candidates have already checked in. Practically every confirmed candidate has already been spotted bonding with the other arrivals in UK.
So I dug up just a bit.
According to my source (who will remain unnamed) It appears that there is still a concern regarding the granting of his UK Visa that needed to be sorted out fast. Something was overlooked in the process.
Hence, a flight re-booking had to be made. And hopefully, our Mr World 2016 rep will be able to leave for the host city today, Monday, July 11.
Sure wouldn’t want Sam to miss an important challenge of the competition! 🙂

Today is already July 8, Friday. Later this afternoon, Mr World Philippines 2015 Sam Ajdani will board his Qatar Airways flight that will bring him to London (via Doha) and whisked straight to Southport for the start of the competition for Mr World 2016, the Search for the World’s Most Desirable Man.
Yesterday afternoon, 26 year-old Sam was given his Official Send-off by ALV Events International of Arnold Vegafria at the Full Belly Craft Kitchen on Sgt Esguerra, QC. Selected members of the media were invited and our bet was game in answering all the questions fielded in, as well as the interview of several TV networks.
“I feel like I’m in a good place now, and I’m ready to enjoy this exciting journey. The real prize and honor is representing the country,” Sam declares
The 6’2″ Filipino-Iranian, whose Filipina mother (surnamed Vargas) comes from the Negros Island Region, is confident of himself and all the preparations he has made for the big mission up ahead. He has all bases covered – from multi-media to fitness regimen to sports training to fashion challenge all the way to the military-type of trials and the dreaded Q&A. Finals night will be on July 19.
“…I think I am intelligent enough to handle questions in the competition.” added Sam

As parting words, Sam was recorded saying the following:
Topless and sexy (Photo credit: Arvin Cruz)
Suave and oh-so-classy
Relaxed and ready to chill
If adjectives will be applied to Mr World Philippines 2015 Sam Ajdani, “suave”, “debonair”, “sexy”, “fashionable” and “smooth” would immediately come to mind. He has practically all the qualities one can look for in a man so desirable that taking part in a competition like Mr World 2016 would be perceived by many as just a walk in the park. But even before our expectations of him would cross over the fence many times over, there is still the element of luck that he needs to have by his side to see him through the competition.
You see, the profile of previous Mr World winners has been quite unpredictable. Just consider the last three – Denmark’s Nicklas Pedersen (a carpenter), Colombia’s Francisco Escobar (an international model) and Ireland’s Kamal Ibrahim (a television presenter). They each represent different types of desirability, so you can never tell what the organization would be looking for in the next.
Hopefully, Sam has got it all covered. He is ready for all the physical/sports challenges and would be extremely in his A-game for the runway and the photoshoots. I’m pretty sure he has gone through rigid Q&A sessions under Atty Nad Bronce of Aces & Queens as well. He will be leaving for Southport, UK very soon.
So is Mr World Philippines 2015 up to the challenge of winning our very first Mr World title? You can bet he is! 🙂
It’s going to be our first Miss World hosting Mr. World 2016
There is no formal announcement so far, but the latest update I got from a reliable source is that Miss World 2013 Megan Young will definitely be going to the UK, quite possibly
as host of Mr. World 2016
on July 19 to be held Southport – England’s Classic Resort. This won’t surprise me anymore if ever as the Miss World Organization fully supports its past titleholders (our first Miss World especially
) and has always been a believer in Megan’s ability to navigate the final proceedings with the right amount of class and charm (as evidenced by previous stints in Miss World 2014, Miss World 2015 and the last edition of Mr. World
This year’s event in Southport promises to be bigger. Judgment night will be held at the Floral Hall of Southport Theatre Convention Centre (STCC). And with the presence (either as host or special guest) of our very first Miss World, it will lend more glitz to the selection of the successor of the reigning winner, Nicklas Pedersen. 🙂
In the meantime, reminisce the finals of Mr. World 2014 in the video below.

. He is scheduled to leave for Southport, UK first week of July to join other candidates in the search for the World’s Most Desirable Man.
In the meantime, check out his shots taken by fellow model and hunky Brapanese Hideo Muraoka (who is going into photography) in addition to the recently-uploaded videos he made on how to develop those fine abs while staying at home.
