From migrant girl to beauty queen, Monika Radulovic's life is a good storybook read
Miss Universe Australia 2015 Monika Radulovic
There are two details that make the victory of Monika Radulovic as Miss Universe Australia 2015 more interesting. First, she is a migrant girl from Bosnia who has paid her dues growing up in New South Wales before finally claiming the biggest achievement in her life so far. Secondly, she is the first-ever winner of the national crown who has a status of ‘Engaged
‘. Yes, my dear readers, this 24 year-old is already engaged to be married to boyfriend Alesandro Ljubicic (a local contemporary artist
Love and marriage will need to wait a little longer, though. Monika will be busy preparing for Miss Universe 2015, as well as serving her reign in Australia. And in the event that she becomes the 3rd MU winner from Down Under, then the wait will be even longer. In an article from the Daily Telegraph:
“He is completely supportive, he is so supportive of everything I do,” she said.

“He wants this to be my moment and he is so busy with his own work, he is his own person and is extremely successful in his own right. He is a great partner all around.”
All in all, Monika signed up for a total commitment as Miss Universe Australia 2015. And she is not about to cut everything short. 😉
The happiness in Monika's face is infectious
Monika Radulovic is the new Miss Universe Australia!
Monika during her victory moment
For the second year in a row (and as I expected
), a repeater was crowned Miss Universe Australia 2015.
Monika Radulovic, who was also part of last year’s edition of Australia’s national finals for Miss Universe, got what she worked hard for and will now be Down Under’s representative to Miss Universe 2015. She effectively succeeded Tegan Martin (a repeater from 2013) who placed in the Top 10 in the 63rd Miss Universe Pageant held in Doral, Miami.
Monika was joined in the Top 5 by 1st Runner-Up Madeleine Cowe, 2nd Runner-Up Melissa Barnard, 3rd Runner-Up Chanel Stewart and 4th Runner-Up Tasha Ross.

What a way to welcome 2013 for the Philippines in the international beauty pageant scene!
Mutya ng Pilipinas – Tourism International 2012 Rizzini Alexis Gomez is now Miss Tourism International 2012/2013 after she bested 55 other delegates for the title during the finals held at the Grand Ballroom of Sunway Resort & Spa. It is the Philippines’ second victory in the Kuala Lumpur-based beauty competition after Esperanza Manzano grabbed the very first back in 2000. She was crowned by last year’s winner Aileen Gabriella Robinson of Malaysia.
Her runners-up include Monika Radulovic of Australia, Marielis Alejandra Castellanos Perez of Venezuela, Lourdes Maria del Carmen Motta Rolon of Paraguay and Jun Yong Wan Jun of Malaysia, in that order.
After a failed attempt at Binibining Pilipinas last April, and a semifinal placement in Miss World Philippines two months later, it appears that Rizzini’s best fortune is with Mutya. The Cebuana Registered Nurse will come home to the Philippines an international winner no less. Spending Christmas and New Year away from home proved to be well worth it indeed!
Hooray to our new international beauty queen!
Congratulations, Rizzini! Mabuhay ka! 😀
