You’ve seen him compete in Mister International 2015 here in Manila and, most recently, Mister Universal Ambassador 2016 in Bali/Surabaya, Indonesia last September. Now, Cas Winters has become sharper and more prepared for a 3rd attempt in an international male pageant. Next month, he will represent the Netherlands in the 1st Edition of Mister Tourism World which will happen in Vigan, Ilocos Sur from December 3-10.
Cas has been a Manila resident for several months now. It’s no secret that his girlfriend is Bb. Pilipinas 2016 Official Candidate Christianne Ramos who is responsible for “Filipinizing” him. Read his self-made 411 now and tell me if he is genuinely a Pinoy at heart inspite of having a Dutch/Indonesian mix.
“My name is Cas Winters, 26 years old from Den Haag, the Netherlands. The name Cas, which was given to me by my Indonesian mother, is derived from old Scandinavian mythology which means “guardian of the treasures”. I am born and raised in a multicultural, yet closed-knit family of five. My Dutch father is six-foot-eight, hence my statuesque height of six-foot-four. Though my tallness may intimidate people most of the time, I am an easy going person who enjoys meeting new people and making good conversations. What piques my interests are business, economics, art, and traveling–which fuels my drive for the spontaneous adventures and ignites my passions in life.
As to best describe myself, I am a man of the world. This is because I have lived in many different cities and countries including where I currently live, (and so far my favorite) Manila, Philippines. Though I love basking in the beautiful and iconic sceneries of the places I visit, I enjoy immersing myself in different cultures the most. Having parents of two very different cultures made me someone that grew a penchant for the uniqueness and diversity of the world. Moreover, I also have an extreme fondness of trying out different cuisines and recreating them in my own kitchen. My favorite so far is the Filipino dish called Adobo, which I usually eat served with some maalat na itlog (salted egg) and sinangag (garlic rice). Because of my love for traveling and food, I aspire to document my world adventures someday through video blogging on social media. This is also to promote my lifelong advocacy of establishing tourism as a platform of peace and sustainable development.”
Cas feels so much at home living here in Manila. If that will work to his advantage in Mister Tourism World, nobody can tell. But one thing is for sure. He will be the tallest delegate, aside from having the genuine excitement to plunge back into the pageant scene and show to everyone that he deserves to be recognized for his real worth.
I wish you all the best in Mister Tourism World, Cas Winters!

Earlier this afternoon, Mr. World 2016 1st Runner-Up Fernando Alvarez of Puerto Rico was honored in a Presscon hosted by Psalmstre Enterprises Inc (PEI) for its brand ambassador of Placenta for Men. With PEI Head Jaime Acosta and Marketing Manager Maryo Copon heading the activity, several members of the media from entertainment and pageant showed up to ask a variety of questions as well as to appreciate the hunky presence of the handsome Puerto Rican who is on his 4th visit in the country.
This time around, Fernando will do more than just appear in print ads and billboards. He will undergo intense lessons to learn how to speak Tagalog with the mid-term objective of getting a big break in one of our teleseryes or perhaps the movies. And given his drive to succeed, I bet we will see more of him in the weeks to come with a gradual knowledge of conversational Tagalog already being put into good use.
By the way, Fernando already enjoys classifying himself as a “Pinoy-Rican” by now. He loves the Philippines so much that he already considers it his 2nd home.
Sandwiched by Mister Universal Ambassador 2016 2nd Runner-Up Andrea Biondo and Mr. World 2016 1st Runner-Up Fernando Alvarez, your blogger is happy being.
P.S. Mister Universal Ambassador 2016 2nd Runner-Up Andrea Biondo (from Gentlemen of the Philippines) also attended the same presscon. He will also become one of the signed brand ambassadors of Placenta for Men soon! 🙂
Tomorrow night in Surabaya, Mister Universal Ambassador 2016 will be named. He will be the 2nd in the two year-old male pageant that has managed to rise up the ranks in terms of popularity. From a mere nineteen (19) candidates in 2015, it has assembled forty-eight (48) in this batch – quite an impressive jump in terms of the trust given by National Directors from all over the world.
So as is customary in my blog, I will give now my Final Predictions for the Top 15. The video above had the choices presented in alphabetical order. Here now are my picks arranged from 1-15 (top to bottom):
In all honesty and objectivity, I can see a three-way battle for the top spot with Christian Llorente of Spain, Alejandro Martinez of the Dominican Republic and Andrea Biondo of the Philippines fighting tooth and nail to be #1. The rise to pole position won’t be easy, as I know that the IMP (Indonesian Male Pageant) Organization will make it doubly hard for the contenders to slug it out considering that the next winner will have big shoes to fill in the person of Christian Ortiz of Puerto Rico. In the end, I can see a winner who will not only be a “Captivating Role Model” (the pageant’s tagline), but also a committed brand ambassador who can help make Mister Universal Ambassador become the best male competition anywhere in the globe.
As for the potential qualifiers outside of the trio above, I can pick Eric of Puerto Rico, Jesus of Peru, Marcello of Brazil and Mazi of Algeria as strong spoilers. This quartet can individually zoom to higher placements if the breaks go in their favor.
All told, this batch has unleashed a really strong group of entries from Latin America and Spain – the Spanish-speaking countries if you will. But if the organization is looking at gaining more solid grounds into Europe, then a toss between Christian Llorente and Andrea Biondo would be ideal as both of them can connect the brand to the said continent effortlessly well. And between the two, our bet has a slight edge because he still has that solid link to Asia where Mister Universal Ambassador still needs to sustain its popularity.
Mister Universal Ambassador 2016 will have its Grand Finals at the Governor Hall in Surabaya Carnival Jawa Timur where Mister Tourism International Philippines 2015 Willan Pagayon will be the Master of Ceremonies.
Best of luck to all candidates! 😀

Today at 7:50am, Gentlemen of the Philippines – Universal Ambassador 2016 Andrea Biondo will depart for Bali, Indonesia via Malaysian Airlines to join more than sixty (60) other delegates in what is being called by many as the biggest international male pageant assembly ever – Mister Universal Ambassador 2016.
Last Sunday afternoon, Andrea was feted to his Official Send-Off at Icon Hotel Timog where members of the Press plus friends and supporters gathered to give him words of encouragement and advise that will sustain the high spirits that he already has in preparation for the big challenge up ahead. He also displayed his Golden Sarimanok-inspired National Costume made exclusively for him by Tacloban-based Nick Guarino of Festivali Costumes and Designs. He wore a suit by Rafael Louis Gonzales (paired with Nere Ku shoes) while answering questions from the media and shared that his formal wardrobe will come from Designers Simon Ariel Vasquez and Ulysses King. Casual attires will be provided by Folded & Hung (Thanks Arvin David!) and swimwear from Pegarro Swim by Julius Jaguio and Domz Ramos.
This is such an exciting and much-anticipated journey for Andrea who will show his uniqueness in the competition – the heart of a Filipino, the passion of an Italian and the cultural mix of strong family values and resilient attitude – with a dash of the naturally fashionable flair that he effortlessly exudes. He has also been trained well in Q&A, public speaking and current events (partly by yours truly).
Full steam ahead!

Busy as a bee. That is how Andrea’s days will be till he leaves for Bali on September 20
Gentlemen of the Philippines – Universal Ambassador 2016 Andrea Biondo’s preparations for Mister Universal Ambassador 2016 are – quite literally – hectic nowadays. From gym workouts to skin treatments to dental appointments to clothes fitting to product launches to new endorsements to TV/Radio guestings to media interviews to dance talent training to Q&A sessions – name it. The past week and a half saw him doing all of these activities. And the schedule won’t be free in the upcoming days ahead leading to his departure for Bali, Indonesia on September 20.
Andrea will have more personal appearances soon. He will hold his Heart of Ambassador Charity Project – “Run for the Win” – this coming Saturday at the Quezon City Memorial Circle for the benefit of Barangay Pansol Youth Organization (BPYO) which will be his main cause/advocacy for the international competition. He is going for Health & Fitness for the Youth. And on the night of the same date, he will be showing up in the Pre-Pageant judging (along with yours truly) of Mr. Gay World Philippines at the Trinity University of Asia Theater together with Mr. Model International Philippines 2016 Job Abogado. And on Sunday, it will be his intimate send-off to Bali where the whole team of Gentlemen Charities Incorporated (GCI) including fellow titleholders and candidates-brothers from Gentlemen of the Philippines will mix with members of the Press plus sponsors and friends who truly support him.
