Just when you thought that our newly-appointed Mister Supranational Philippines 2021 John Adajar is all brains, brawns and good looks, think again. Beneath the MMA Fighter persona and pageant-bound features, he actually has a soft spot for the poor and underprivileged. And in his beloved home city of San Pablo in Laguna, he joined hands with other youth leaders in coming up with a food-feeding initiative project called #HapagKainan.
Started since 2019 even before the global pandemic hit the Philippines, Hapag Kainan (Dining Table) is visually a small customized vehicle with detachable tables. This mode of transportation is driven around the city and makes stops in key areas where they encourage people to approach and give them bowls of food (and other types of meal) to ease their (often-postponed) hunger.
The group practices a strict protocol never to touch their bowls for health and safety reasons. This charitable move is done 3x a week. And last year alone, they were able to feed 70,000 families. This 2021, the target is 100,000 families. In the eyes of some, this may look like a small initiative. But these good souls are just happy to help especially in the midst of a crisis.
Here are some photos from the Press Conference held in honor of Miss Supranational Philippines 2021 Dindi Pajares and the official announcement of the appointment of John Adajar as Mister Supranational Philippines 2021. National Director Arnold Vegafria presided over the special event held at Annabel’s in Quezon City.
Despite the strict regulations for any public gathering, members of the pageant media were cooperative enough to do their interviews and picture-taking in several batches of 5 individuals to comply with the 10% capacity allowed to converge inside the Patricia Hall of said venue.
Both Dindi and John are in high spirits. They are ready to raise the flag of the Philippines in Poland for Miss Supranational and Mister Supranational, respectively.
Dindi will depart on August 3, while John will follow on August 8. The finals of their respective pageants are scheduled only a day apart.

URCC Global Welterweight Champion John Adajar is all set to return to his pageant beginnings. In a presscon held earlier at Annabel’s in Quezon City, an official announcement was made by National Director Arnold Vegafria. This 30 year-old 5’11” strongman from Laguna – a cyclist and Brazilian jiu-jitsu practitioner – will conquer Poland as the appointed representative and Mister Supranational Philippines in Mister Supranational 2021. This stint will be his one final hurrah to capture the big glory in international pageantry and hopefully make the entire country proud.
As a Mixed Martial Artist (MMA) Champion with the moniker “Outlaw”, it’s not hard to either like or hate John. Owning a 5W-1L pro-MMA record, he has garnered fans with his deft skills in the ring and irritated a lot of people with his arrogant persona that he uses to promote fights or regaled them with his looks.
But if you look deeper, Adajar is one of those fighters who had to climb their way up the food chain. While being born into a privileged life, “Outlaw” embraced the grind of combat sports where there are more fans than practitioners in his social segment. He wasn’t one of those fighters who just showed up into a pro league even if they haven’t even fought one amateur fight. He was cutting his teeth in the amateur circuit, namely the Academy Fighting Championship being handled by Ron and Aaron Catunao. He was the welterweight champion in the AFC and it was obvious to anyone who saw him fight that he was going to end up in the URCC sooner or later.John with National Director Arnold Vegafria
