Twenty-nine (29) gorgeous hunks from different parts of the world presented themselves to different members of the media during a Press Preview held at the Sulo Riviera Hotel yesterday afternoon.
Cameras clicked nonstop as the contenders paraded in their casual wear and swimming trunks, much to the delight of everyone present. And this early, favorites are setting the bar higher than before.
I surveyed some media colleagues and the names that constantly cropped up are Fernando Alvarez of Puerto Rico, Daniel Barreres of Spain, Jakub Kraus of the Czech Republic and Pedro Mendez of Switzerland. But clearly, being host delegate has a clear advantage for Pagbilao native Reniel Villareal who was applauded during his turns. And he clearly delivered amidst the sea of the best specimens of male beauty in this year’s edition. Other picks include Rafael Angelucci of Venezuela, Cas Winters of the Netherlands, Chris Nanna of Australia and Freds Rivera of the Dominican Republic.
By now, all the delegates are on their way to Ilocos Norte for their provincial run. The National Costume Competition will be held in Laoag, and this will be an important part of the pre-pageant activities.
Let’s see who can topple the prime choices at the moment. 😉

Neil waking up in Prague
It was such a dreamy working vacation for Mister International 2014 Neil Perez when he visited Prague as very special guest of the organizers of Mister International Czech Republic. Speaking yesterday to our favorite Misters winner last year, he intimated that he fell in love with the place that he wouldn’t mind going back for a return visit soon. He added that his Czech hosts grew fond of him that they were literally sad (a few were even holding back the tears
) when he was brought to the airport for his trip back to Manila. It was such a perfect trip that he promised to see everyone again in the near future. And I bet a reunion is guaranteed to happen by November as the Czech delegation to the 10th Mister International will have all the familiar faces visiting Manila to support the 2015 bet Jakub Kraus.
I’ll talk to you again soon, Neil! 😉
And Neil made sure that he was the perfect guest

Mister International 2014 Neil Perez is having the time of his life in Prague, Czech Republic right now. This is his first trip to Europe and in one of its most beautiful cities yet.
Neil is a special guest of the organizers of Mister International Czech Republic. He will help award the 2015 winner alongside Tomáš Dumbrovský – reigning titleholder – who became his good friend and 2nd Runner-Up in Ansan, Korea during the competition last February.
Neil will have his hands full with a busy schedule which will also include a courtesy call with the country’s Prime Minister, Bohuslav Sobotka.
Enjoy your working vacation in Prague, Neil! 🙂

Last night, Mister International 2014 Neil Perez was feted to a joyous birthday bash at 1Esplanade Lounge. He just turned 30 and the people at PEPPs thought it most fitting to celebrate the event where his close friends from childhood, pageantry and the police force attended, along with sponsors (UniSilver Time and Teceruma Spa
), some of the Misters of Pilipinas 2015 Official Candidates and select members of the Press.
Everyone had only the kindest words for the celebrant who continues to be a source of inspiration to many and quite the simple guy who just happens to be good-looking and all. When asked about one of his birthday wishes, he shared that he just wants to save enough to be able to build his own house – not the dream structure others would visualize, but something that he can proudly call the result of his hard work.
The party extended till shortly after midnight where there was non-stop music, dancing, singing and bonding – an all-around wholesome event full of smiles and good vibes.
Happy Birthday again, Neil! 😀

And yet, another postponement for Mister International 2014. I hope this will be the last.
The reigning Mister International, Jose Anmer Paredes, is now on extended stay as such.
Okay, dear readers. I can now finally confirm that Mister International 2014 has been postponed once more. And I can only hope that it will be the last move for the male pageant.
Every other detail about the host city and host venue remains the same. The only thing new is the date – February 14, 2015. Yes, Mister International 2014 will now be elected on Valentine’s Day next year. And the finals will be broadcasted live by Arirang TV. That should somehow make up for the delay.
Many unforeseen circumstances forced the organizers to postpone for a second time. And instead of not pushing through with the competition at all, one final (fingers-crossed) move was in order. The confirmed candidates, like Neil Perez of the Philippines, must be getting all the more riled up about the constant movement. But their hands are just as tied.
Mister Philippines International 2014 Neil Perez must be feeling antsy about the delay. But all he can do is patiently wait.
So there. V Day 2015 for Mister International 2014. 😉
Canada will be represented by Fil-Canuck Dan Marana in Mister International 2014
And just like the majority of global beauty pageants for ladies where there are at least two (2) candidates with Filipino roots, here comes Mister International 2014 which will have our Neil Perez competing with the Canadian entry – Dan Marana – who is of 100% Pinoy
Dan – whose family comes from Bagabag, Nueva Vizcaya – is a boyish-looking hunk who was actually doing railroad maintenance supervision prior to landing the opportunity to do modeling and eventually being chosen to represent Canada in an international male pageant. His candidacy is being handled by the IPEN Group of Edgar Sulit.
Let’s wish him luck in Seoul! 😉

Mister Philippines International 2014 Neil Perez is quite the happy man.
You see, when word got out that Mister International 2014 has been postponed to November 29, he was the first to heave a big sigh of relief. He didn’t want to rush himself for Seoul. With most everyone riding the wave of his instant popularity, invitations for personal appearances mushroomed left and right to the point that his daily schedules are getting too crowded. He only gets Sundays free, and that is, if no live TV guesting in one of the musical variety programs can’t be helped.
“…mabuti na din at na-postpone at makakapag train pa po ako” mentioned Neil during our chat. “Need ko din ng rest kasi sobrang daming invitation nahihiya po kasi ako tumanggi… Sana manalo ako at magbigay ako ng karangalan sa bansa at sa PNP… (“It’s good it got postponed so I can train more. I also need to rest because of the numerous invitations which I find hard to turn down. I hope to win so I can give honor to the country and to PNP.”)
You don’t get to see Neil giving out a big smile in photographs like the one above, right? (Photo credit: Khalel Zantillan)
And Neil got more than a month to concentrate on improving himself for the international competition. Between now and the first week of November, he will try to keep a more sane schedule so enough time can be set aside for gym workouts and personality development workshops.
Just holler if you need help, Neil. 😉
