With their respective wins abroad taking place with just two weeks in between, Miss Universe 2017 Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters of South Africa, Miss World 2017 Manushi Chhillar if India and Miss International 2017 Kevin Lilliana of Indonesia are in the midst of press tour/media guestings.
Demi-Leigh is in the Big Apple where she is spending the week doing the rounds of TV talk shows and radio programs. Manushi and Kevin, on the other hand, are back in their respective countries where a string of media appearances has kept them quite busy.
Below are videos of their interviews – one each:
By now, Miss World Philippines 2017 and Miss World 2017 Top 40 finisher plus Beauty With A Purpose Project Co-Winner Laura Lehmann should be returning home from Sanya after her journey in the pageant. Here is her message to the entire Philippines:
PHILIPPINES!!!! 🇵🇭️ I’m on my way back home as I write this message & I am just so excited for all the bangus, daing, bagoong, YANYAN & Mang Inasal unli-rice that I’m going to eat. 🤣 But most of all, I am so excited to be returning to my country! 🙂 As you can tell from his pic I was SO happy to be wearing your sash last night. 🙂 I felt so proud showing the world that I come from the land known for its people – their laughter, smile, spirit & warmth no matter where in the world they are. When I first met the girls last month, the first thing almost all of them told me was that they had Filipinos in their neighborhood (kahit sa Caribbean guys paano kaya tayo na abot dun ) & that they were the best & kindest type of people. 🙂 I know we didn’t get as far as we wanted to here, but I don’t want anyone to be sad, okay? ️ Remember what Coach Tai said, Happy Happy Heartstrong. What’s important is that we live our lives with a smile & with a heart, because we are so lucky. 🙂 I want you to know that I had an amazing journey here & that I learned much more than any classroom could teach me. Just wearing this beautiful @markbumgarner creation already made me feel like a queen. And so with that, this is Laura Lehmann – Beauty With A Purpose Winner, Head To Head Winner, Top 40 – saying, I love you Philippines & I’m coming home. ️ – 9 hours ago
As far as being a co-winner of Beauty With A Purpose, this is her message:
The moment they announced the Beauty With A Purpose Winners!!! Eeeek I was so happy. 🙂 Because Beauty With A Purpose is really the reason I chose to join Miss World. 🙂 Watching everyone’s project was so inspiring & it made me so happy because some girls are really doing some amazing things. ️ My roommate Linh gave electricity to an isolated village while Tya made sure no one in hers would ever go hungry again. Sustainability at its finest & those are just 2 out of 118! Most of the videos are up on YouTube & I hope they make your day a little bit brighter like they did for me. 🙂 Click the link in my bio to watch my video! Produced and shot by #CultureShockProductions @realyo82. By the way I am loving this #IndoPhilLove #StopFightingGuys
Congratulations to Miss India Manushi Chhillar. You are Miss World 2017! The 6th blue crown for the South Asian nation.
1st Runner-Up is Miss Mexico Andrea Meza and 2nd Runner-Up is Miss England Stephanie Hill. Kenya and South Africa completed the Top 5.
Watch Manushi’s crowning moment below.
Laura Lehmann of the Philippines made Top 40. And with all the Top 5 BWAP Finalists declared as Beauty a with A Purpose Winners, that added to her performance value. She did not advance to the Top 15 Quarterfinalists anymore.
Let’s hope either of these links work
Let’s cut to the chase. The biggest heart of Miss World is Beauty With A Purpose. And with that in mind, I am confidently presenting my Final Top 10 for the 2017 edition. One of the ladies with their respective BWAP projects below will be the successor of Stephanie del Valle:
South Africa – Ade Van Heerden
Philippines – Laura Lehmann
Russia, Polina Popova
England, Stephanie Hill
Brazil, Gabrielle Vilela
India, Manushi Chhillar
Indonesia, Achintya Nilsen
France, Aurore Kichenin
Thailand, Phatlada Kullaphakthanaphat
Australia, Esma Voloder
In my mind, I will not be surprised to see the Top 5 with three Asian ladies – Philippines, Indonesia and India – along with South Africa and Russia. One of the three – Laura, Achintya and Manushi – could be this year’s winner. Are you excited for such possibility happening?
At the end of the day, my #1 choice is and will be Laura Lehmann of the Philippines for the blue crown.
Finally, Group 17 of Miss World 2017 had their Head-to-Head Challenge yesterday. This is where Miss Philippines Laura Lehmann is a part of, along with Thailand, Myanmar, Turkey, Lesotho and Serbia.
I don’t know with you, dear readers, but without the voting in this segment and all, Laura stood out head and shoulders above the other five.
Miss Philippines Laura Lehmann made it to the Top 20 Semifinalists for the Beauty With A Purpose Competition of Miss World 2017 in Sanya, China. And I already expected her project to really get much attention as early as her sendoff last month when it was shown to members of the media.
Please watch the video below and tell me if the meaningful effort will be the much-awaited turning point in Laura’s journey to the Miss World crown.
