Taking the cue on how you, my dear readers, reacted to the online chat between Miss Universe 2019 Zozibini Tunzi and Miss Universe 2000 Lara Dutta, I decided to share another Indian beauty who brought pride to her country back in 1997 after winning Miss World.
The focus is on how this beauty queen-turned-actress handles sit-down interviews taped for a bigger audience. In the throwback video clips below, she guested on the talk show of Riz Khan on Al-Jazeera and discussed an assortment of topics that allow us to see through her personality and inner beauty.
Bb. Pilipinas World 1996 Daisy Reyes is running for Mayor of Pateros
Bb. Pilipinas World 1996 Daisy Reyes is evolving into a woman of more substance this 2016. The one-time Miss Personality during the Miss World 1996 held in India, she is forging ahead and immersing herself deeper in local politics as she is in the midst of campaigning to become the next Mayor of Pateros, MM.
And what a better time to show to everyone how really confidently beautiful with a heart a Bb. Pilipinas titleholder is. “Shine Pateros” is the battlecry of Daisy’s candidacy. And mind you, she has already paid her dues in public service after having been Councilor of the same place for two terms now before deciding to run for higher office.
Daisy in the busy campaign trail
One of the best things about Daisy is her very warm and accessible character that can reach out to several sectors of society – be it men and women young and old, from small kids to teenagers, the LGBT community and even the unemployed residents of Pateros who are being motivated to shine on their own while keeping face with the ideals of this former beauty queen herself.
Daisy is facing a tough fight as she is pitted against five other contenders for the same position. But this Bb. Pilipinas is up to the challenge and will show to all people in Pateros that she has a good heart to serve in all the right places and will only more forward to make her beloved fellow residents to shine even more and face a brighter future ahead with her leadership.
So do I hear someone calling her Binibini Mayor Daisy Reyes after the counting for the May 9 elections is completed? I am leaning on the positive here! 🙂
