It doesn’t come around often that a Miss Venezuela titleholder – or any national beauty queen for that matter – is also a certified pastry chef and a baker and a bakery shop owner. But Mariángel Villasmil Arteaga is all that and more.
She runs Slainte Cakes in Maracaibo and has a campaign called “Give A Sweet Smile” which delivers birthday cakes to children’s hospitals and nursing homes.
Before winning the national crown, Mariangel was a victim of misinformed surgical operation when she had to live an entire year without her right breast. This episode in her life has led to becoming a firm supporter of the Love Yourself movement, while advocating for HIV/AIDS prevention.
