Newly-crowned Miss Universo Paraguay 2011 Alba Lucia Riquelme Valenzuela is no stranger to beauty contests and modelling competitions. At the age of 14, she already won the Elite Model Paraguay 2005 and represented her country in China. She also took part in Miss Hawaiian Tropic 2009 before joining and winning the CN Models International Search the same year. And to top it off, she was Miss Paraguay in the Miss Beauty of the World 2010 in China where she made it to the Top 10.

Whew! Clearly, the 20 year old – who stands 5’11 1/2″ – is not stopping in her tracks and going for more glory, be it as a fashion model or beauty queen. This time around, she is going for the biggest prize of all – the Miss Universe 2011.

With all her previous experiences, Alba can breeze through all the highs and lows of the pageant and still come out a winner in her own right. But I’m certain that she will go to Sao Paulo with solid confidence to make it all the way.
