You don’t post a cryptic hashtag as dead a giveaway as that if you mean something else, right? Or are we getting blindsided?
Regardless of what Miss Universe Philippines Tourism 2022 Michelle Marquez Dee is hitting at, I won’t fall off my computer chair if she ends up going for the Transformational this 2023.
I encourage you to take a look at Anje Mae Escara Manipol and her potentials for transformation in Miss Universe Philippines 2023. This morena beauty is, first and foremost, an advocacy-centered aspirant who completed her first national pageant assignment during Miss World Philippines 2022. Aside from making it to the Top 20 of the competition, she was also adjudged one of two BWAP (Beauty With A Purpose) winners. Her cause? Sustainable Agriculture.
A Licensed Agriculturist, Anje Mae wants to continue being the voice of local farmers not only in Quezon Province, but in the entire Philippines if possible. She may still fall short of the sophistication most every pageant fan is looking for. But that can be gradually trained. Her inner beauty is non-negotiable. It is something that she possesses that will help put across her message more clearly – and hopefully with more spontaneity.
Catch Anje Mae once she finally embarks on her biggest pageant journey in MUPH2023.
Baguio City has gained several up notches in its efforts to field outstanding candidates to national pageants. Just to name a few, Roxie Baeyens (a.k.a. Roxie Smith), Ghenesis Latugat, Neeve Comanda and Dean Dianne Balogal come to mind. Here’s another one who will start her entry into the big leagues this 2023. And she is the reigning Miss Baguio – Krishnah Gravidez.
I reckon that Miss Universe Philippines 2023 should watch out for this beautiful lady. While the rest of us are hung up on endless details about advocacy, transformational leadership or anything else so intangible, do not forget the need to consider someone who is physically alluring first before we start qualifying if she has amassed a treasure trove of causes and successes in social and civic competences.
Krishnah can prove her worth in due time. And with the all-out support of Promedia Philippines in navigating her way around the long and winding road of pageantry, she can build herself up as a contender in your eyes.
This is half gut-feel on my part. The other half is a soft whisper to my ear saying that she just might.
A Licensed Dentist who espouses oral health and youth empowerment for her advocacy, Dr. Trisha Martinez joined her first national pageant last 2021 and won as Miss Philippines Tourism under the collective titles of Miss World Philippines. Sadly, a supposed international assignment did not push through for reasons beyond her control. Now if my source turns out to be right, then we will see a return to the game of crowns.
Doc Trisha is deserving of a pageant win. Before she goes full steam ahead with a professional dental practice, why not join again? The time to do it is now. And I mean this 2023.
Miss Universe Philippines 2023 beckons – if not a trip back to the purpose-ful.
During last year’s edition of Miss Universe Philippines, she was one of the ladies considered to be potential spoilers for the crown. And indeed, she climbed until the Top 10 which meant being part of the shortlist the organization is eyeing for a possible win. Some pageant quarters even thought for a while that she may just be able to score a back-to-back win for Cebu City following the victory of Beatrice Luigi Gomez the year before.
Is Chantal Elise Schmidt ready for further transformation this 2023? This well-spoken Fil-German stunner from the Queen City of the South is likely to make a return to pageantry and fulfill the proverbial unfinished business of winning a crown. But a slice of the pageant fundamentalists may frown by asking what a professional model and host can offer to be considered part of the new breed of Filipinas for Miss Universe. Well, I say let’s cut her some slack for now. Gut-feel is telling me that she still has aces up her sleeve that still remain unappreciated. I know that she has it in her to deliver.
Posted @withregram • @jonasempire.ph Being a queen doesn’t stop with the beauty that is seen with the naked eye. It takes commitment, determination, and most importantly, it takes heart.
Are you the one for the Miss Universe Philippines crown?
Earlier today at SM Iloilo, Chloei Darl Gabales was assigned her title of Miss Iloilo-Universe 2023 in a sashing ceremony where the Top 3 winners of Miss Iloilo 2023 received their automatic seedings to national pageantry. This 22 year-old actually finished 1st Runner-Up, but was deemed by organizers as the most suited to be the candidate of Iloilo City in Miss Universe Philippines 2023.
A native of Jaro District, Chloei is one fine example of an empowered Ilongga blessed with good values, beauty and intelligence. She graduated from a Regional Science High School and entered college at a young age of 15 as a full academic scholar at the National University with Bachelor of Science in Accountancy as her field of study.
Check out the 4-year old video below when she competed for the Juicy-fied Teen Squad 2018 and you can already tell that she held promise as a future beauty queen.
Despite a busy schedule in joining pageants and taking on modeling assignments, she still manages to focus on her work as a Risk Assurance Internal Auditor in one of the big four auditing firms in the country. Her broad aim is to serve as an inspiration to the youth while promoting business sustainability as a professional.
Below are clips from her Miss Iloilo 2023 performance.
This could be the start of a new blog series here entitled “Transformational Possibilities” or features on Filipinas who may have what it takes to pursue the Miss Universe Philippines path. But let it be known that I can be quite picky on who to include in the line-up.
Let us begin with Gabriella “Gabbi” Carballo who just recently crowned her Miss Cebu successor. She may be a familiar face in the Queen City of the South as a fashion and print model, but she is also a Nursing graduate from Cebu Doctors University who hopes to become a full-pledged practitioner or even a Doctor one day. She also plays volleyball and is involved in a number of socio-civic causes that involve women’s rights.
Oh, and Gabbi also sings.
The question is, will she be interested in joining? I have a strong feeling she is. She is now free from her responsibilities as Miss Cebu 2022. And time is in her hands to do the nationals.
Transformational leadership focuses on empowering others and inspiring change. To achieve these ends, transformational leaders instill a sense of ownership and participation—in their teams and in themselves—by utilizing the four “I’s” of transformational leadership:
* Intellectual stimulation encourages innovative thinking by emphasizing new experiences and growth opportunities.
* Individual consideration builds positive relationships by mentoring employees and helping each person understand their value and potential.
* Inspirational motivation models a vision for the organization, the team and for employees to emulate and make their own.
* Idealized influence models expectations and actions for employees, earning their trust and respect.
These four “I’s” provide the foundational philosophy of transformational leadership, helping to differentiate it from leadership philosophies with a similar style, such as visionary leadership, and even complement those styles with opposite approaches, such as transactional leadership.
The descriptions above may be too academic to apply them to pageantry. But getting salient points should give us a good starting point in looking for Miss Universe Philippines 2023 who will be our Transformational Filipina in El Salvador by November-December this year.
Using the four “I’s” above, we may need someone who is smart enough to get her creative juices or that of others going. She is an agent-of-change-in-progress, if you will.
She should ideally be involved in an ongoing project where people take inspiration from her words of wisdom or participation. She also has to foster unity among them.
You can call it an advocacy or an active part in a charity or non-governmental organization, but she needs to show more than lip service in her involvement and the passion to get her hands-on touch to the same.
So are we ready to tread carefully on that newly-constructed road to Miss Universe success? I guess the hard part is looking for the best benchmark. But if MUPH scouts deep enough, there may already be a couple of previous joiners who fit the bill. We can take cues from the likes of Pauline Amelinckx, Julia Saubier, or even Vanessa Caro (watch video below) and Ghenesis Latugat to some extent.
Hi! Norman here. When I'm not working, I spend most of my free time planning on daily blogs. If you will notice, I always make sure that a fresh topic comes out everyday - not an easy thing to do but it's all good. Thanks for dropping by and enjoy the visit!
