Iceland made it to the Top 10 during Miss Universe 2019. But did you know that the highest placement of this country happened way way back in 1962 when Anna Geirsdóttir placed 1st Runner-Up to Norma Nolan of Argentina?
For the 69th Edition, the Nordic island country is pinning its hopes on 22 year-old Elísabet Hulda Snorradóttir – a certified travel bug – to record a possible win in our favorite pageant.
Fun fact: Elisabet speaks 5 languages – Icelandic, English, Japanese, Mandarin and Korean. She is majoring in Chinese Studies at the University of Iceland.

Said Hildur, “It took me long to decide and I signed up for Miss Universe Iceland. What impressed me most was that the judges were foreign. It felt to be most important…The competition is also known abroad and a huge name internationally and I know this makes me enormously pressured.”
