After MPE2011, MWP2012 and BBP2015, Brenna Cassandra Gamboa is giving Mutya ng Pilipinas 2015 a try (Photo credit: Fabmanilaph)
Brenna during her three previous pageants
Brenna Cassandra Gamboa is a woman on a pageant mission. And she doesn’t mind even if some beauty contest followers would throw potshots at her frequent cross-overs. The more important thing is to give it a try because you’ll never know if this could be her best attempt to date.
You see, Brenna has now qualified as a Mutya ng Pilipinas 2015 Official Candidate – her fourth in the nationals. After reaching the semifinals during Miss Philippines Earth 2011, clinching 4th Princess honors to Miss World Philippines 2012 and wearing pin #17 in last (early) summer’s Bb. Pilipinas 2015, this could be the competition earmarked for her potential top victory.
Towering at 5’10”, Brenna is definitely one of the tallest in this batch, if not the tallest pending the arrival of the candidates from Filipino Communities abroad. And given all her past experiences, she could gain a good advantage once the pre-pageant activities commence and judgment sessions take place.

I’d really like to see Brenna do well in what could be her final stab for a good crown. Let’s see how well she will fit in Mutya ng Pilipinas 2015.
Best of luck, girl! 😀

Miss Mun. of Casiguran, Athena Mae Imperial before she won Miss Philippines Earth 2011
Athena Mae Imperial will go down the history of Miss Philippines Earth as its most critically-panned titleholder and also the one who claimed victory in the only edition of the contest with the toughest cuts in any previous or succeeding years. As if that’s not enough, her eventual placement in the Top 4 of Miss Earth 2011 as Miss Water added fuel to the already blazing fire of endless potshots. Here is a girl who had the right smarts for the title, but was not able to meet the physical expectations (or standards, if you will
) of pageant fans and followers in terms of being fully- deserving for the achievements that she earned for herself.
But Athena managed to survive a tempestuous year. Let us now look back at some of the videos that will remind us again of her reign, with the last one showing her latest career as a Field Reporter of GMA News TV.

Michelle Gavagan is another buzzed-about Miss World Philippines 2014 joiner
Here’s another lady being buzzed about as screening for Miss World Philippines 2014 once the schedules are finalized. Her name is Michelle Gavagan, and she was once a part of Miss Philippines Earth 2011 where she landed the title of Miss Philippines Fire. She is 24 years old and stands 5’8″.
While Michelle was born in Pampanga to an Irish-American father and Filipina mother, she is now a resident of Las Pinas City where she is still studying at Southville International School and Colleges.
How are you liking this Fil-American beauty? 🙂
Diane Querrer during Miss Philippines Earth 2011
As a former ward of Team JDV, 5’8″ Diane Carmela Querrer came to public awareness back in 2011 when she represented Tanauan City (Batangas) in that year’s Miss Philippines Earth. After a relatively missable stint in the pageant, she went full steam ahead with her other multi-hyphenated specializations like events hosting, radio discjockeying (Energy FM), courtside reporting for UAAP and modeling.
This year – and with a new beauty camp behind her back – Diane is back with a beautifully made-over self (quite different from her old photos above and on the left) and is reportedly submitting her Bb. Pilipinas 2014 application form anytime soon.
I’d really like to see the transformation. Let’see if the end results merit our support. 😉

Last year, 5’9″ Brenna Cassandra Gamboa survived some of the toughest cuts in any Miss Philippines-Earth edition ever. She made it all the way to the finals night. But then again, she was stopped in her tracks at the Top 10 level. She failed to advance and bid goodbye to the crown which landed on Athena Mae Imperial’s head. She treated everything as an experience that strengthened her resolve even more to give another pageant a try. This year, she enlisted for Miss World Philippines 2012 and officially became Candidate #16. In the roster, she belongs to the group with previous beauty contest experiences (along with Queenie Rehman, Maryanne Misa, Fer Mary Baliquig, April Love Jordan and Carla Lizardo). Will the past exposure do her more good come finals night on June 24? Personally, this Fil-Am beauty has her share of pluses that qualify her for the crown. But there seems to be something missing. Must be the lack of oomph? She has better than creditable communication skills in English. But how far will this complement her bid?
Let’s see how Brenna will step up to the plate in this one. 😉

Jaine Hidalgo can be remembered as the representative of the Municipality of Milaor in Miss Philippines Earth 2011. She didn’t do well in that one, and was actually eliminated early on in the competition. But trained hard she did, and with the help of Jonas Gaffud and Aces & Queens, she leveled up beautifully well since she is now in the thick of pre-pageant activities for Bb. Pilipinas 2012. Described by most as exuding the Bicolana
allure of a true Pinay
lass, she is using her charm to full advantage by keeping her attractive face framed by long shiny hair that go well together whenever she glides and sashays on stage. And with a shapely body to boot, she insures that her proportions are well-outlined in a 5’6″ height that makes her look taller when photographed solo. One of this year’s dark horses, I reckon, if she plays her cards right all the way to the finals come April 15.

Bb. Pilipinas 2012 candidate #6 Ma. Alicia Elena Ariosa (Photo credit: Melvin Sia/OPMB Worldwide)
Allen during the Bb. Pilipinas 2012 screenings (Photo credit: OPMB Worldwide)
Ma. Alicia Elena V. Ariosa, or Allen for short, is one of the beauties from Mindanao in this year’s edition of Bb. Pilipinas. Hailing from Pagadian City, she actually took part in Miss Philippines Earth 2011 and made it to the tough Final 10 who were given full focus during the coronation night held in Palawan. Meeting the minimum height requirement of 5’5″, she tips the scale at 118 lbs. and has vital statistics of 36-25-36.
At this point, Allen has loads of fans and supporters who are planning to uniformly wear baby pink during the finals on April 15. A little too early for something like this, some might reckon. But if you have backers like she does, it clearly boosts their bet’s confidence to the fullest.
And 24 year-old Allen is not about to leave it all to fans’ cheers and fate. She is priming herself up for the more wringing demands of Bb. Pilipinas, just as she was able to survive three pre-pageant eliminations in MPE2011.
