As promised to me by Rodgil Flores of Kagandahang Flores, I introduce you to the first of the #KF2018 ladies which the beauty camp will field for screening in next month’s start of Bb. Pilipinas.
Here we have a beauty from Bacolod who pursued and finished her Medical Studies in Cebu. And for starters, she is a Doctor of Medicine who works as Post-Graduate Intern at the Adventist Medical Center Manila.
Dear readers, meet Doc Ena.
Ena Louis L. Velasco
Vital Stats: 33-25-36 /5’9″
Highest Educational Attainment: Doctor of Medicine
Occupation: Post Graduate Intern at Adventist Medical Center Manila
Masskara Queen 2012
Miss Southwestern University 2014
Miss Mandaue 2015
How I describe myself:
I am a strong and independent woman who knows what I want in life yet humble enough to acknowledge my flaws and weaknesses with an open mind for improvement.
Why should I be the next binibining Pilipinas?
It has been my dream to help and serve others, be a holistic advocate of health far and wide specially in the far-flung areas where health seems to be neglected, and I believe that Binibining Pilipinas will be the best platform to promote that advocacy.
And also by carrying the title Binibining Pilipinas, I will try my best to be an extension of God’s hands in bringing not just healing but hope in the lives of my fellow Filipinos I touch.
I come from a simple family of five and the eldest of three children. We were raised by our grandparents during the time our parents were working abroad. We lost 11 years of our time to bond with our parents in exchange for a good future. At a very young age our grandmother, who nurtured us with love and equipped us with good morals, made us understand the reason why our parents had to leave and that was to secure our future, our education and I’m very thankful for my parents and my grandparents as well. Such experience has made me into who I am today, a vital part of my persona.
What is your greatest achievement?
By far, fulfilling my dream of becoming a doctor is one. Not because of the degree alone but by being one, I am able to find my purpose in serving others. The joy in my heart overflows whenever I see my patient’s condition improve. Most especially when they remember you for the good that you have done.
Ready to be wowed by Cynthia Tomalla from Cebu?
Some of you might be wondering why I haven’t featured Cynthia Tomalla yet. Truth of the matter is that – exactly three (3) years ago today
– I already did a blog post on this knockout beauty from Southern Leyte when she was just barely 18. If you don’t believe, then click on this LINK
and read the content and the date it went live.
Last year, Cynthia – who was already a Tourism major at University of Cebu-Banilad where she regularly makes it to the Dean’s List – was encouraged to join Miss Mandaue 2015 where she eventually placed 1st Runner-Up to Ena Velasco. Not bad for the native of Macrohon who held the title of Miss Pintados 2013 in her home province.
This 21 year-old really has the face that could launch a thousand ships or looks that can give any Barbie doll a new template for mass production. And if she has reached a point where she would be ready to go full-blast in the nationals, she could be one of the more easy-to-recall joiners.
Will Cynthia Thomalla present herself at Araneta Center soon? I’d really like to see that happening. 🙂
More than beauty queen looks, Cynthia is definitely of showbiz material
The girl’s name is Ena Velasco. She recently won Miss Mandaue 2015
The onslaught of beauties of Cebu continues. This time, the winner of the recently-concluded Miss Mandaue 2015 comes to your screen. Her name is Ena Velasco, standing 5’9″ and a product of Sven Chua’s Origin Model Management which handles the modeling careers of Jamie Herrell and Gazini Ganados.
Back in 2012, Ena was named Miss Masskara in Bacolod. A year after, she went on to claim the Miss Southwestern University title which awarded her a meaningful prize – 100% scholarship to take up her Medicine studies in the institution. In between, she takes ramp and print modeling assignments for earn her own keep.
But being part of KF Cebu could only mean that Jonas Borces will groom her for Bb. Pilipinas, either next year or 2017. So do you think she has the potentials to follow the likes of Kris Tiffany Janson and Rogelie Catacutan in the nationals? 😉

Another Cebuana to invade the national pageants – Bea Luigi Gomez
The Queen City of the South seems to be churning out one standout beauty after the next. Last year, Bb. Pilipinas Intercontinental 2014 Kris Tiffany Janson, Mutya ng Pilipinas Asia-Pacific International 2014 Eva Psychee Patalinjug and MPE2014/Miss Earth 2014 Jamie Herrell rose to victories in their respective national pageants and internationally for two of them. And just last March 15, Rogelie Catacutan continued with the streak by claiming the crown of Bb. Pilipinas Supranational 2015.
From AD Models Cebu – Homme et Femme, a new name and face should start conquering Manila by 2016. Her name is Bea Luigi Gomez, a 20 year-old 5’8″ fashion model who has been undergoing a series of training by the people behind Admodels Stylefirm of Dexter Alazas. And FYI, she is the cousin of former Miss Tourism International Rizzini Gomez.
Just a week back, she got her first taste of regional pageantry by joining and placing 2nd Runner-Up in Miss Mandaue 2015. And between now and year end, she will be immersed in further improvement sessions to keep her in good stead for Bb. Pilipinas 2016 or Miss World Philippines 2015 (if they so decide).

Remember the name. Bea Luigi Gomez. She will become more and more visible in the upcoming weeks and months to come. 😉
