Last year, the Philippines claimed its first-ever 1st Runner-Up finish in Miss International when Ma. Ahtisa Manalo placed second to eventual winner Mariem Claret Velazco of Venezuela. It was a placement that could have gone either way for the two fiercely-competing countries which have so far collected the most number of wins in the Japan-based competition.
This year, will it be a duplicate for the Philippines with Atty. Bea Patricia Magtanong? There’s always a good chance of that happening, just as making it simply to the Top 5 or the Top 10 is the best that she can deliver in the finals.
Personally, I am rooting for Patch. So I really hope that she becomes our 7th.
Anyways, below are some rehearsal photos for the Final Gala of Miss International Beauty Pageant 2019 with her.
The coronation will be streamed live on the pageant’s Facebook page, Youtube channel and Hikari TV starting at 2pm (Japan time) tomorrow afternoon (around 1pm in the Philippines).

This batch produced a Miss Universe in Catriona Gray, a Miss Intercontinental in Karen Gallman, and a near-win as 1st Runner-Up in Miss International in Ahtisa Manalo. We can also add a Top 10 Miss Supranational finish for Jehza Huelar and a Top 15 placement in The Miss Globe for Michele Gumabao. It saddens me, though, that Eva Patalinjug was questionably snubbed in Miss Grand International.
At any rate, what an impressive score card for this group of titleholders!
So have you had your fix of sweet delights for Valentine’s Day? You still have a few hours to do so.
Or you can ask Miss International 2018 1st Runner-Up Ma Ahtisa Manalo to bake you a cake, just as the photo below when – along with the other winners and 20 beauty ambassadors/candidates – she made one at the famous Ryugetsu Sweetpia Garden in Tokachi.

So happy to have reunited with one of our Queens – Miss International 2018 1st Runner-Up Ma Ahtisa Manalo – when she made her first public appearance as special guest during the sendoff for Manhunt Philippines 2018 Jeff Langan who will depart for Gold Coast, Australia tomorrow to compete for the country in Manhunt International 2018.
She has really blossomed so much, especially after the successful stint in Tokyo, Japan for Miss International 2018. Below is a clip from the media interview with her, answering if she has any regrets about finishing so close to the title itself.
