Miss World Australia 2012 Jessica Kahawaty
Looks like the trend of sending mixed-race beauties to the big beauty pageants is getting strong. After our Filipina-Pakistani Queenie Rehman, here comes Miss World Australia 2012 Jessica Kahawaty who is proudly Aussie-Lebanese. A top print/commercial model and TV presenter down under, the 23 year-old Sydney resident holds a Bachelor of Laws and Business (Finance) from the University of Technology, Sydney (UTS). She also has had her share of pageant wins in the past, like
Miss Lebanon Australia 2007
Miss Lebanon Emigrant 2008
Miss International 2008 (Top 12 and ranked 6th/75 countries)
Miss New South Wales 2009
Miss Universe Australia 2009 (Top 10)
Miss Universe Lebanon 2010 runner up
Australian Miss World reps have quite a good track record in the pageant. Will Jessica be the next to place well in the finals on August 18? Let’s hear your impressions of this lady. 😉
Krista Kleiner, our representative in the Miss International 2010 currently ongoing in Chengdu, China, continues to wow everyone with her effervescent presence, beautiful face and winning personality. Her confidence lever is at an all-time high and this really helps when putting her best foot forward around everyone. According to a colleague covering the pageant, there was this one incident when the ladies were introduced in their respective national costumes. The moment Krista took centerstage, she was asked by the host if it is true that she can do kung-fu, to which she replied on the affirmative. He was about to ask her to do a small demonstration but hesitated since she was wearing a layered dress and all.
Lo and behold, Krista had her nanchucks discretely hidden inside her wide sleeves. She immediately pulled them out and played in front of a pleasantly surprised and applauding audience! Whatta girl!
Finals of the pageant is not until November 7, but this early, Krista might just give us cause for celebration next month – be it winning the crown or landing a spot in the Top 3! 😉
Reigning Bb. Pilipinas-International Melody Gersbach was honored with a send-off by the Bb. Pilipinas Charities, Inc. to the Miss International 2009 to be held in Chengdu, Province of Sichuan, China.
