Our very own Miss Intercontinental 2018 Karen J. Gallman is into her 8th month of pregnancy. And soon – on or before Christmas this year – she will become a mother for the very first time. That, in my opinion, will be the most magical day of her life.

Amidst all the controversies (and unforgiveable embarrasments) with the initial days of SEA Games hosting in the country, the Opening Ceremony this coming Saturday, November 30, should be a source of pride for Filipinos. Aside from the showcase of World-Class singing talents, the muses of the participating countries in the region’s biennial sporting event will be eleven (11) of our international beauty titleholders, namely:

Karen spent the last week in Galle, Sri Lanka. Being an avid traveler, she is enjoying all the country-hopping benefits that come with the title.

This batch produced a Miss Universe in Catriona Gray, a Miss Intercontinental in Karen Gallman, and a near-win as 1st Runner-Up in Miss International in Ahtisa Manalo. We can also add a Top 10 Miss Supranational finish for Jehza Huelar and a Top 15 placement in The Miss Globe for Michele Gumabao. It saddens me, though, that Eva Patalinjug was questionably snubbed in Miss Grand International.

At any rate, what an impressive score card for this group of titleholders!
