The 40 Official Candidates of Miss Asia Pacific International 2016
There will only be one top winner for Miss Asia-Pacific International 2016 when the finals night at the Sheridan Resort and Spa in Puerto Princesa, Palawan this coming Wednesday, November 23. True, there will be four runners-up. But in the end, everyone will only remember the one who gets to wear the Manny Halasan-made new crown that symbolizes the pageant and its big return to the pageant scene.
Allow me to give you an idea of the ladies I would like to see climbing up the ranks and inching close to the desired victory. I chose to just make a Top 12 forecast after seeing them in person during the Press Presentation last November 17.
My Top 12 for Miss Asia-Pacific International 2016
In my Top 12, the upper tier is made up of Misses Philippines, Russia, Siberia and South Sudan. For me, they are the best of the batch, sentimental leanings on the host delegate set aside. Our very own Ganiel Krishnan is definitely in a league of her own. Her beauty and presence are hard to miss, not to mention the fact that she articulates her views clearly and in an engaging manner. She could very well be the best spokesperson of the comebacking pageant if it wants to reclaim its popular spot in the eyes of pageant fans and followers internationally. Close on her heels are the twin peaks – Tatiana Tsimfer and Maria Platanova – from Russia and Siberia, respectively. These two bombshells are strong physically and would be good poster models for MAPI if only to make noise in other countries. But aside from these three, I would really love to see Achol Arow of South Sudan to shine well. She has this quiet and regal beauty that will make people sit up and take notice. Her presence is undeniable the minute she presents herself to many.
Moving to the second tier, I can also see good fights coming from Mondy Laigle of New Caledonia, the uber tall Natalie Carriere of Canada, Mona Schafnitzl of Germany and Shiva Srishti Vyakaranam of India. They are all winsome and attention grabbing that they can also spoil one or two of the magic circle spots as stated above.
Completing my prediction is the lower tier with Felicia George of Cook Islands, Madeleine Stock of Australia, Zhao Le of China and Soyeon Kim of South Korea. I am not giving them the best probabilities to zoom straight to the top for now, but they also appear capable of doing so if the breaks are directed in their favor.
My Top 5 for Miss Asia Pacific International 2016
In the end, I am putting my bets on Miss Philippines Ganiel Krishnan, Tatiana Tsimfer of Russia and Achol Arow of South Sudan as potential Miss Asia-Pacific International 2016 winners. I slipped Maria Platanova of Siberia to 4th after further review but I won’t be surprised if she will also register strongly on all judges. But if a Top 5 will be chosen, I’d be happy seeing Mondy Laigle of New Caledonia getting the final spot.
The ladies are enjoying Puerto Princesa, but not for long. The Coronation Night on Wednesday will have them rehearsing nonstop so they need to do double time in their hectic daily schedules.
Best of luck to all!
