This is a sad day in Philippine male pageantry as Dr. Joseph Pallera of Mister Philippines Inc. died of cardiac arrest last night and has joined our Creator.
Dr. Pallera is the owner of the Mister Philippines male pageant brand and has been successfully running the annual competition for more than eight years now until his untimely demise. In his time, he was able to produce winners and successful placers in the international stage like WCOPA Gold Medalist for Male Model Mike Gerard Mendoza, Mister Global Teen Joaquin Rudolfo Rosullosa plus placements for this year’s James Ventura in Mister Global and Denver Hernandez in Mister Universe.
Please help us pray for his eternal rest, and for strength of the whole family.
His remains lie at Samson Funeral Homes, Mabolo, Bacoor City.

The awarding ceremonies of WCOPA 2015
It was like a reversal of fortune for our model entries during the finals of WCOPA 2015 in Long Beach, California. Mike Gerard Mendoza was adjudged Male Model of the World, alongside Y-Fi as Vocal Group of the World. Our female model, Hazel Ortiz, made it to the Top 7 of her category which was won by the entry from China. She placed 2nd, good enough for Silver.
But Hazel won’t be coming home empty-handed as she also has a Gold to her name during the individual National Costume portion where Mike garnered the Silver.
Congratulations to Team Philippines! The group’s overall performance may not have matched the glory years when the likes of Jed Madela led the country to medal romps in several categories. But still, victories were earned by our hardworking entries. 🙂

In the ongoing World Championship of the Performing Arts (WCOPA) in Long Beach, California, our entries in the modeling category – Hazel Ortiz and Mike Gerard Mendoza – earned their first medal distinctions by bagging Gold and Silver in the National Costume Category, respectively.
These achievements should set them up pretty nicely for the finals of the main modeling challenge where both separately entered the Top 7 Finalists in the male and female division. The big runway test will happen later in the host city. And we are keeping our fingers crossed that they will bring home another set of medals to add up to the anticipated haul of Team Philippines which has also fielded quite a number of finalists in the other areas of competition.
Good job, Hazel and Mike! Best of luck in the finals! 😀

Good luck, Mike!
Tonight in the Caribbean Island of the Dominican Republic, Men Universe Model Pageant 2015 will be elected among the delegates who travelled all the way to Santo Domingo to become the ultimate winner of the competition and become the successor of Bruno Mooneyhan of Brazil.
Here’s wishing the best for our Philippine representative, Mike Gerard Mendoza, who will try his best to secure a good placement in the finals. It won’t be easy breeze with the presence of the strong Latinos and Europeans, but who knows what fate lies ahead of him.
In the meantime, watch the video below of the contestants when they were presented to the Press.
