It may still be a wee bit premature to make a teaser blog about this subject matter, but Michelle Dee is being talked about in small pageant circles as seriously considering to enter the pageant route via Miss World Philippines 2019.
She just started her TV career at GMA7 and will have a part in an upcoming rom-com flick showing later this month. But with her home network handling MWP, then I can see no big obstacle for that happening this year.
Will blog more about this as soon as details become more final.
Good morning, World (or the Universe rather)!
Here is the beautiful Michelle Marquez Dee with her face made up by THE Gery Penaso.
In which national pageant will we see her joining? I know that she has reportedly signed up for GMA Artist Center for a talent management contract. But if you put one and one together, the fact that GMA-7 is the official network of Miss World Philippines 2018, the possibility beckons soon.
Let me hear your thoughts, dear readers. 😊
It makes more sense for Michelle Marquez Dee to gun for a Miss Universe Philippines title more than any other crown. After all, her mom Melanie is already the family’s Miss International so – if she does seriously sign up for Bb. Pilipinas 2018 – being the successor of Rachel Peters is the only spot she is aiming for.

Now about that sensitive question on whether Michelle transferred beauty camps – is it still an issue? As far as I am concerned, let us just allow the girl to train and be molded where she wants to. The end goal is and will always be the Philippines in mind and heart. Anything in between is like a middleman who will help in achieving that goal, regardless of who takes responsibility for doing so.

In less than a month from now, the 2018 Philippine pageant season will start with the enlisting/submission of application forms and scheduled screenings for the next edition of Binibining Pilipinas signaling another wave of beautiful Filipinas aspiring to become the next national titleholders.
This early, which familiar names and faces are getting the loud buzz as seriously eyeing Binibini spots in the 2018 batch?
Let’s start with four.
Clockwise from top left: Michelle Marquez Dee, Leren Mae Bautista, Eva Psychee Patalinjug and Samantha Ashley Lo
There is Michelle Marquez Dee – daughter of Miss International 1979 Melaine Marquez – who skipped 2017 in order to finish her studies at De La Salle University. She is a graduate now so no excuse to skip another year. She is 5’11”.
There is Mutya ng Pilipinas Asia Pacific International 2015 and Miss Tourism Queen of the Year International 2015 Leren Mae Bautista who is likely to do the crossover. Inspite of the risk (being multi-titled), she is almost 100% ready to make the big move. She is 5’8”.
There is Mutya ng Pilipinas Asia-Pacific International 2014 Eva Psychee Patalinjug who kept a low profile the past few years due to personal and professional reasons. She is already 24 and the last time we spoke, the readiness is already in place. She is 5’8”.
Fourth on the list is Binibining Cebu Tourism 2017 Samantha Ashley Lo from Asturias, Cebu who is tall at 5’9”, very modelesque and very articulate.
Your early thoughts, dear readers?
Will we finally see a return of Wyn-Wyn Marquez to the Bb. Pilipinas stage?
Back in 2015, Teresita Ssen Marquez – or Wyn-Wyn Marquez if you will – almost blew the Bb. Pilipinas finals over with her fiery presentations onstage that gave the other favorites a big run for their money. She was a joy to watch in both swimsuit and evening gown as the training showed in every move and turns that punctuated her solo spotlights. Everyone inside the Araneta Coliseum then was sure that she would get one of the crowns at stake. But when announcement of winners came, her name was not included inside the sealed envelope. No use looking back to the reasons behind the same. Move on she must.
And this 2017, are we bound to see her once more in the nationals? It was earlier blogged that her cousin – Michelle Marquez Dee – is also being convinced to sign up for the screenings. Will we see a battle of the two? This should be very interesting if all things fall into place.
Back to Teresita, does she deserve a spot in the list of Binibinis for 2017, dear readers? Raise of hands please.

Is the daughter of Miss International 1979 Melanie Marquez ready to take the pageant plunge?
She has the right pedigree alright, being the daughter of Miss International 1979 Melanie Marquez. And it’s only a matter of time before the entry into the pageant scene beckons Michelle Marquez Dee to follow the call (or pressure if you will
) and re-trace the beginnings of her popular beauty queen-mother. After all, she has the best potential to do so.
Actually, Michelle is already a small celebrity in her own right, having been made an image model of Bench Clothing, aside from the perennial association with Melanie. But will this tall and oriental-looking (she got a significant part of her features from father Derek Dee) come into her own and establish an identity that will be uniquely hers? Well, for starters, joining Bb. Pilipinas 2017 would be the first step. While I don’t see her as fitting the mold of Miss International just yet, who knows what styling she will take into once she makes the move to show up, sign up and step up.
My sources are saying that she could be one of the torchbearers for Kagandahang Flores this season.
Watch out for more updates on Michelle Marquez Dee.

BTS shots of Catriona from the Mega shoot
It would have been the perfect release of a magazine cover for Miss World Philippines 2016 Catriona Gray. The timing couldn’t be more perfect such that a victory in National Harbor, Maryland last Sunday night will have pushed the group shot with Michelle Marquez Dee, Sabina Marquez and Lauren Reid out of the frame to give way to a solo center of attraction. But that’s the way pageant life goes.
Regardless of the circumstances, you need to add the December 2016/January 2017 issue of Mega Magazine to your collection because it shows Catriona doing what she does best in front of a masterful lensman like Melson Bolongaita and make-up by Anton Patdu.
The video below is a repost, but it goes perfectly well with the shots above.
